About Me & My Family

Three little girls run amuck in this house, so there are days when we just HAVE to get out and get going somewhere. We love zoos, parks, beaches, and traveling around to visit friends and family. We enjoy finding awesome deals for places that are kid friendly. Taking our three girls with us as we travel around the country is by far our most favorite thing to do.

A Place We'd Love To Visit
Vancouver
Favorite Vacation Memory
After a long day of sledding and climbing through the hills in Lake Tahoe, our family sat in front of the fireplace in our hotel and roasted marshmallows. The soft glow on my girl's faces, mixed with their hazy, tired eyes made the warmth of the fire mean so much more.
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
Not realizing how crowded the city bus would be with my girls in San Francisco!! We had to make 4 connections and fold and collapse the stroller at each stop. It was back-breaking, frustrating and a LONG DAY!

Fall leaves in Southern California

Despite what you might believe, there are a few great spots to see the Fall leaves in Southern California.  Check them out for a day trip in late October and you won't be disappointed.

39611 Oak Glen Rd.
Yucaipa, California

Comment:
The entire community of Oak Glen really gives off a fall vibe that doesn't originate in SoCal. Specifically, at Riley's, as with many of the other spots in the town of Oak Glen, your family can view fall leaves, pick apples, grab pumpkins, get lost a corn maze, ride a horse, listen to country music, drink fresh cider and enjoy the animals at the petting zoo. Seriously, folks. Oak Glen will give the East Coast fall experience a run for it's money!!!

Off of east Highway 78
Julian, California

Comment:
As with Oak Glen, the community of Julian (located in the mountains nearest San Diego) is an amazing autumn leaves and fall festival destination. Pan for gold, get old time photos, pick apples, ride a carriage, enjoy the local produce, all while taking in the most beautiful leaves that don't require a loan for airfare or gasoline!!

25905 Highway 243
Idyllwild, California

Comment:
The small town of Idyllwild has only locally owned restaurants and businesses and, believe it or not, no public playgrounds. They do, however, have an abundance of fall folliage to view from numerous hiking trails that take off from Mt. San Jacinto State Park. If your kids are the more "outdoorsy" types, be sure to head here for some amazing scenery and some clean, fresh air.
