Best places in Florida for kids who love pirates!

Florida's vast coastlines are ideal places to tell pirate stories.

In addition to those sandy shores, there are lots of places to bring your pirates.  Set sail for any of these pirate themed locales and get ready to ARGH!

There's a special Children's Parade which is ideal for those with pint-sized pirates.

"Well suited for older pirates"
This annual event is incredibly popular with pirates of all ages.  Dressing up is the norm rather than the exception and everyone really enjoys talking like a pirate throughout the day.  If you have pint sized pirates, plan to arrive extra early to secure a spot along the bridges in downtown Tampa to watch the ships.  You'll have a great view of the pirate ship invasion without a lot of the wild crowds around you.  Once on land near the Convention Center, the pirates parade begins.  Plan for parking challenges, college kids who drink a bit too much and aggressive bead catchers and you'll be prepared for anything.

"Pricey pirate fun"
This pirate cruise was great fun for our entire family even though it is a bit pricey.  On our high seas adventure, we saw friendly pirates, dolphins swimming in the surf and a few land lubbers cheering at us.  If you visit the website to make advance reservations, you can save $2 per person which you will probably spend on parking.  ARRGH!

This is the third largest parade in the USA! The Parade of Pirates is held every year in January. This pirate fest is a must!

"Beads!"
Every year, Tampa is invaded by pirates firing real cannons off their floats....and the citizens of Tampa go wild.  Dressing up as a pirate is highly encouraged...you'll feel like a part of the party so go wild!  The Parade of Pirates features so many costumed pirates of all ages that you'll feel like you're in a Johnny Depp pirate movie.  Get there early to secure a spot along Bayshore Boulevard and shout out loud for beads!  The view of downtown Tampa over the water is beautiful!  Beer is sold at this event, some folks do get a bit wild and it is VERY loud so you might want to be cautious younger kiddos.  ARRGH!

"AARGH!"
If you've got a little Captain Jack Sparrow fan, then you'll want to book a pirate makeover during your next visit to the Magic Kingdom!  There are four different pirate packages to choose from and all include lessons on how to be a pirate.  It's so much fun watching the kiddos transform from shy to scurvy during their visit to The Pirate's League.

"All day event ideal for pirates of all ages"
This annual event, held on one day in January/February (January 22, 2011 from 11am to 7:30pm this year), is an offshoot of the more famous Gasparilla Pirate Invasion and Parade of Pirates celebration but it attracts thousands of pint-sized pirates all searching for one thing....beads!  Bring your family out to this alcohol-free event and plan to be amazed.  The crowds make parking a challenge but there are plenty of reasons swashbuckle your way through the masses.  It's fun!

With the NFL Bucs as the home team and a giant pirate ship in the end zone, this stadium is ideal for any pewter pirate. The ship even fires when the team scores! Go Bucs!

"Pirate ship in the end zone!"
NFL Bucs fans love coming to games to cheer on the team especially because of the giant pirate ship in the end zone that fires real cannons when the team scores!  The concession stands in the end zones are designed to look like seaside villages which adds to the charm of the place.  Parking is easy and getting to the games is a breeze.  There are always tickets available on game day which makes last minute plans possible.
