Where to enjoy Holiday Lights in Los Angeles

Enjoy the warm weather and stroll down the many neighborhoods in the Los Angeles Area to admire the Holiday Lights.

Note that this holiday season, the annual Griffith Park Holiday Light display has been cancelled.

Stroll down the neighborhood and enjoy looking at the festively decorated homes. This is a tradition that has been going on for more than 50 years. If you want to avoid the crowds, it is better to visit during a week-night.

The Festival of Lights will be on from November 25th till January 8th. This is definitely one event you do not want to miss as 3 million lights will adorn the site.

This is definitely Holiday Wonderland. Main Street will be nicely decorated and you will see an amazingly tall Christmas Tree. The Haunted Mansion is transformed into The Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion. Santa Claus visits the park and the fireworks have a holiday touch.

"Love it but can be expensive"
It is clean, it is fun, everything is well organized and cheerful. We went there a couple of times and we always had a nice time, children and adults alike.
I am not going to repeat what other said, just that I went once at Christmas time and it was tastefully decorated. The Haunted Mansion had become the Nightmare before Christmas mansion and got my daughter screaming, she was so afraid. But as she stepped out of the ride, she wanted to go back again!
I just took a star off because of the pricing, it is quite a budget to eat there and stay at the hotels (we ended up staying at a non-disney hotel). And do not get me started on the souvenirs.
My tip: call them to ask them when are the least crowded day. We did that when we went there for Thanksgiving break and we avoided the crowd by following the customer service person advice.

This does not seem like the child friendly destination for holiday lights but my children were in awe of the beautiful lights and decorations all over Rodeo Drive and I have to say that the chandeliers in Baccarat crystal are worth seeing.

"Fun for the eyes"
I have only been at Rodeo Drive around Christmas time. My two daughters loved it, everything is decorated with so much taste that even young children will enjoy it. The Christmas tree by the stairs is beautiful.
I definitely admired the baccarat chandeliers hanging from the poles, and enclosed in a case for protection.

This December, you need to visit the Ritz-Carlton for two things: admire the Christmas tree and look at the Gingerbread display with galore of macaroons, sugar cubes, cream puffs, candy and many more goodies.

This is as charming as it can be with holiday lights all over the promenade.

"Very nice"
This is a lovely area to go for a walk and have lunch. The promenade is car free so it feels very safe for the whole family. The trees are shaped like animals, that definitely add some fun.
It is very close to the beach and to the pier.
A lovely place to hang out.
