U-pick Blueberries on the Alabama and Florida Gulf Coast

It is almost time to start harvesting those sweet Southern blueberries and there are plenty of U-pick farms to choose from along the Alabama, and Florida Gulf Coast if you want to fill your own basket!  Always call ahead to check the hours of operation and make sure that the berries are ready.  Along the Gulf Coast, blueberries are usually ready for picking at the beginning of June and the season will last for a month or two!  Most U-pick farms take only cash and some take checks.  Rarely, do they take credit cards so be prepared!  Most provide buckets but throw a cooler in the back of your car to transport your blueberries home!

A & N Blueberries is our favorite farm to visit during the u-pick season. Most of the bushes stand at least 6 feet tall and make for easy, fun picking. These are some of the sweetest blueberries we have tasted! U-pick berries are $1lb and there is always other fresh produce available for purchase like squash, potatoes, and zuchinni. Buckets are provided but you can bring your own.

"Kids will love to pick their own blueberries!"
A great blueberry farm where you can pick your own blueberries.  The kids love to do this.  Of course they eat more blueberries then they put in their bucket.  Barring weather and crop issues, they are open in June and July.  Call ahead to make sure that the blueberries are ripe.  Bring sunscreen and a hat.  Be prepared to go very early in the morning because the humidity and the sun will force your home by about 10am.  They only take cash!
