About Me & My Family

I am a mom of 3 wonderful little boys (one with special needs), a beautiful baby girl, and am married to the man of my dreams. I am very interested in incorporating learning into activities that we do, so a trip to the beach turns into a school field trip. Recently, we moved back to California after a brief move to Texas and feel blessed to be able to be involved in all facets of Christian Camping. Because my husband and I serve in full time ministry, we're lucky to be able to spend a lot of time around each other and our family, having exciting adventures and just living life, day by day. :)
Our Family's Travel Personality
adventurous, curious, structured, relaxed, independent, energetic, spontaneous, easy_going, scheduled, artsy
We Just Got Back From
Japan, Lake Tahoe, Camp! (Not on the same trip though) :)
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
Anywhere new where discoveries can be made! We're pretty frugal, so budget traveling is definitely the way we go. However, occationally, we do love to splurge too! :)
A Place We'd Love To Visit
Austrailia to scuba dive the barrier reef, a zero-gravity flight to experience weightlessness, ziplining and exploring a rainforest, exploring the vast glaciers in Alaska, just to name a few!
Favorite Vacation Memory
It's completely simple, but watching our 6 year old get selected to be a Jedi Knight at Disneyland. It's his "lifelong" dream and still today when someone asks him what he's going to be someday, he proudly answers, "A Star Wars Guy!"
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
Right after checking into our hotel, my 4 year old threw up in the middle of the floor on the carpet, all over his jammies, his lovey, and on his little brother. Thankfully, the hotel we were staying in had a laundromat that was open late, so a few hours later, and after some carpet scrubbing, everything was cleaned up and like new.

Texas's Best Children's Museums!

One of my favorite memories with my own children are watching their faces light up as they fly a plane, drive a firetruck, or even launch a space shuttle into outer space.  Of coarse, these things aren't actually happening, but I love the intensity in their eyes as they experience the world around them in a unique way.  I mean, where else can a 5 year old be a movie star, engineer, astronaut, and doctor while saving the world from the evil forces of the galactic empire?!

"Watch out world, here I come!" I imagine my little kiddos speaking this montra after a visit to the inspiring, clean Brownsville Children's Museum! The staff do a wonderful job encouraging youngsters in art and education to have fun and explore their world. They also have an amazing Infant/Toddler area and do birthday parties as well!

With the goal to educate and inspire young minds, kids will feel comfortable constructing with large blocks, "working" various city jobs, becoming a movie star, or learning about gravity, energy, and more!

Dance, climb, and invent your way through the different exhibits this well thought out museum offers. This summer you have to see Flow Works, an outdoor exhibit that teaches kids the power of waves and hydropower. Another "must see" is the 35ft. Power Tower that has lily pad shaped steps connected by 5 miles of steel cables kids climb on! Make sure you check the online calendar before your trip and take advantage of the wonderful deals or classes they offer!

These exhibits really are "out of this world!" The Children's Museum features hand on space themed exhibits where kids can explore the planets, have a musical adventure, see the inside of a space shuttle and more!

"Larger than life" is the theme here as kids play with large legos and giant chess boards. My favorite is the Shadow Room where you can create glow-in-the-dark masterpieces and the critter corner with live reptiles and other herps!

Do you have a budding Picasso? Located inside the Museum of Fine Arts, The Children's Museum is a place where kids can create masterpieces! Some children's artwork done by participants in the various programs are hung and displayed for all to see.
