About Me & My Family

We are a busy family with 3 kids and we don't sit still. When we aren't running off to scouts, dance, sports, etc., we really enjoy spending time as a family. If we have a day we will try to find someplace local to explore. If we have a weekend we go a little further. Give us a week and we can really pack it in. We are always on the lookout for family friendly destinations (especially hotels which seem so hard to find!). Our vacations are not spent floating in the pool...they are spent exploring the area to its fullest!

My daughter is such a pip and thinks the hotel is the destination. If we do sightseeing along the way she just keeps asking "when are we going to get to the hotel?" She loves checking out our new "home away from home" and she LOVES the fact that she gets to share a room with someone!!

Take the Kids to a Pick Your Own Farm in New Jersey

Picking your own fruits and vegetables is more fun than eating them!  Best practice for pick your own farms is to call ahead to ensure they are currently picking.  Be sure to dress for being out on the farm, old shoes, sun protection and bug spray!

"Blueberry Delight"
My family and I love to come here each summer to pick our own bluberries.  A tractor delivers you to the fields where you can pick til your heart's delight.  Pay per pound picked.  Bring your own containers to transport your berries home in or you can buy one of their flats for a nominal fee.  (they do not allow strollers in the fields)

Allow time to stop inside the farm market but be warned, your taste buds will be tempted by all the yummy baked goods.

They have a small area with farm animals.  The goats always love visitors so stop by to let the kids say hi!

In the fall they fill their field with pumpkins and have a hay maze.

"Fall Fun for the whole family"
Picking your own apples and pumpkins are one of the highlights of the autumn season.  Each year our family takes a trip to Eastmont Orchards to do just that.

They have many varieties of apples.  They will provide you with bags and an apple guide.  Trees are color coded to help you identify the type of apple which you can check on your guide.  Don't forget to grab a wheelbarrow too, those bags can get heavy!

When you are done with the apples, how about picking some brussel sprouts for dinner?  Need some gourds?  How about a pumpkin?  All are available.

As an added bonus, you can come during the summer season for peaches!  Mmmm...

When you are done with all the apple picking and you get back home, be sure to check out their website for some delicious recipes.

Always call before you go to make sure they are open for picking.  When it is dry, the dirt blows around from the fields and when it is wet it is muddy so be sure to dress approriately.

Cash or checks only.  No credit cards accepted.
