"Fabulous Artsy Intro For Kids"
The San Jose Museum of Art houses a fabulous collection of modern and contemporary art offering such visually appealing and bold pieces that parents will have no trouble finding conversation starters for talking to their kids about art.  The inviting and creative atmosphere inside begins before you're barely in the  door.  The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to answer questions, point out particulars and help in any way they can.  There is also a small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating on site.  It's a perfect place to take your little artistes for a snack break if needed.

Watch the museum calendar for family activities such as DIY Holiday decorations and the museum's fantastic Chinese New Year celebration that eventually spills out into the plaza at its steps!

In CDM's Art Loft, children learn to create visual art that is meaningful to them using both authentic and unconventional art-making tools and materials. Guided by program specialists, children engage in unique visual arts projects that support their exploration of ideas, development of skills, and ability to perceive aesthetically. Experiences offered in The Art Loft change regularly and may include drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, or sculpture. Parents and caregivers can expect to spend about 30 minutes in The Art Loft assisting children in the art processes.
