About Me & My Family

We have lived all over and love to explore the region we live in. We love the outdoors--hiking, camping, and water of all forms. The six of us (mom, dad, and kids ages 10,8, 4, and 2) currently call Seattle home.

Favorite Vacation Memory
Once we visited the San Jose children's museum in the morning, took a pizza to the beach in Santa Cruz in the afternoon, and stayed up late playing on the boardwalk at night. That was a lot of fun.
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
An unexpected six-hour delay at the Detroit airport alone with all four kids. Thank goodness for the kindness of random strangers!

Seattle-Area Children's Museums

Now that the big kids are back in school, take the little ones to the children's museum!

"Great for the little ones"
Kidquest is a small children's museum in a declining shopping mall. Parking is plentiful and they are ACM-reciprocal, although they have been getting snippy about it lately. For example, when I moved to Washington they wouldn't accept my membership card from my former state because I had a WA driver's license. Lame.

However, it's worth a visit if you have little ones. The baby/toddler areas are fabulous, and preschoolers enjoy it, too. Not worth a visit for five and up, they will get bored quickly.

Comment:
For those on the north side, the museum in Everett is the best of the group!

"Best in Seattle area"
The museum in Everett is better than the one in Seattle, Bellevue, or Tacoma. It is large, parking is easy, and it's ACM reciprocal. Multi-level with lots of different activities, and there is something for everyone, up to about age 10. On a sunny day, the rooftop dinosaur dig and playground is one of our favorite exhibits of any children's museum. Strollers aren't allowed past the entrance, so take the Ergo if you have a little one.
