San Diego Must See With Kids in 5 Days

What to do if you have only 5 days to visit San Diego? This city is one of the best city to visit with kids. There are so many parks, theme parks and attractions. It's almost impossible to see it all.

But here is our list of must-see attractions that we can fit into 5 days.

"Best Marine Animal Shows"
I don't know why I haven't visited SeaWorld with kids sooner. Maybe I have been saving it for San Diego trip. But it's one of our favorite place during our visit.

There are many animal shows and interaction that you will need at least two days to take it all it especially with small kids.

Our top 5 animal shows are listed on my blog:  http://bit.ly/6BUgR3

Kids absolutely love Shamu, Sea Lion and touching pool with sting ray!

"World Most Famous Zoo & It's true!"
Ok.. I was a bit skeptical when I plan a visit to San Diego Zoo. The title of World most famous zoo is a bit too much, don't you think.

But I have to say that they are not boasting! I have never had so much fun at any zoos like this one.

The zoo has created such an environment that allows visitors to feel like they are part of the environment. There is no high bar to block your view. Kids can easily view the animals.

The most impressive thing I found was the animals there are packed with great personality. They aren't afraid to show off their great personality.

Here are our top 4 great persona at the Zoo
- The Gorillas are fun and playful
- The Tigers are fierce
- The Hippos are great swimmers
- The Polar Bears love their carrots

So when you go prepare to spend a full day and yet you probably still feel like you haven't seen everything!

"Perfect museum for kids of all ages"
With the name like Science Museum, parents of young kids might not think it will be a great stop for them. But don't let the smarty name fool you. This museum is a great hand-on, interactive museum that even toddler can enjoy.

For toddlers, head upstairs to the Kids' City for a room full of child-size toy like telephone booth, groceries store or big lego for them to build. My son who is 5 still enjoyed playing and spent almost an hour there.

For school-ages kids, the downstairs will provide interactive fun to learn about science. Upstairs will be a favorite for the whole family in the Blockbuster room. You can build anything from those blocks.

IMAX movies were very enjoyable! It's a perfect museum in Balboa Park to visit with the whole family.

"Best Theme Park for young kids"
Yes, I have said it.. 'Best Theme Park' even as we are a huge Disney fan. It's a bit on the different level than Disney but it has a lot to offer for younger kids.

There are more rides for younger kids and there are more things to look around with all legos creations. Almost practically, everything in there made of legos.. ok.. maybe not everything but you can find lego in every corner.

Kids as old as 7 (in my case) or 37 (in my husband case) can still enjoy this park.

Make sure to check height requirement before waiting in line because they do enforce it.

"Must Do - Journey Into Africa"
This park is big, really really big. So prepare for a lot of walking. But if you don't have much energy or can only do a few things then you must go Journey Into Africa.

Journey Into Africa is a semi-safari ride to where the animals live in the large area without cages. You won't be able to get up-close and personal on this tour but you will learn a whole lot about what the park do to help these animals. We were so lucky to see a brand new baby deer born a  mere hours before we arrived.

It's an experience that like no other places!

"Perfect Place to view San Diego Skyline"
We stopped by the park as a detour and we glad we did. What a great place to view San Diego Skyline. We didn't prepare for the hiking so didn't make it to the lighthouse. But we still spent a great deal amount of time enjoying the view of San Diego bay.

Locals told us that you can check the naval schedule and might be able to see the ships sail back to port.

Also we made a quick stop to the tidepool and enjoyed the time viewing the surfers out on the pacific ocean. What a view!!
