About Me & My Family

Three little girls run amuck in this house, so there are days when we just HAVE to get out and get going somewhere. We love zoos, parks, beaches, and traveling around to visit friends and family. We enjoy finding awesome deals for places that are kid friendly. Taking our three girls with us as we travel around the country is by far our most favorite thing to do.

A Place We'd Love To Visit
Vancouver
Favorite Vacation Memory
After a long day of sledding and climbing through the hills in Lake Tahoe, our family sat in front of the fireplace in our hotel and roasted marshmallows. The soft glow on my girl's faces, mixed with their hazy, tired eyes made the warmth of the fire mean so much more.
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
Not realizing how crowded the city bus would be with my girls in San Francisco!! We had to make 4 connections and fold and collapse the stroller at each stop. It was back-breaking, frustrating and a LONG DAY!

Rides that utilize fastpass at Disneyland

In case you aren't familiar, FASTPASS is a completely free service that gets you and your family on the rides at Disneyland much faster!!

The FASTPASS ticket basically holds your place in line for a major attraction, while your party enjoys other activities in Disneyland.

Disney staff are INCREDIBLY helpful.  If you don't understand the system, don't skip out, just ask them and they will give you PLENTY of helpful information and tools.

"Kids enjoy getting to "drive"!"
If you have a little one interested in cars, they will enjoy this fun ride where kids get to keep their own official driver's license.  Older kids who typically ride go-carts that go fast and have no track might be a bit disappointed by the track and slow pace (especially if you get caught behind someone who keeps stalling).
There is a fastpass for this ride, but it still takes you to about a 10  minute wait away from the entrance.  I very rarely use my fastpass for this ride.

"Fast-paced fun!"
I have such fond memories of riding this as a child and now taking my own kids on as well.
The line times tend to be a bit tricky, but there is a fastpass available that gets you on the ride in about 5-10 minutes.
Since there aren't too many "thrill" rides at Disney, this one is one of the favorites for a bolder type of child.  My 5-year-old likes the feature that lets her ride in between two adults in the car; she feels extra secure that way!
Disney does such a great job theming this ride; it is a complete package!

"For the adventurer at heart"
Although I don't recommend this ride for small kids as it would certainly scare them if not shake their bodies too much, older kids and their parents will enjoy the adventure and thrill of this ride that immerses in you the world of Indy.
There are lots of skulls and scary components, so make sure your kids are ready for this level of ride before entering.
The ride is also very rough, so please use common sense if you are injured or easily made sick.
When the ride originally opened, they gave out decoders to figure out the hieroglyphics in the line.  I had one then and the line went by in no time trying to decode everything.  They are no longer available, but a fan scanned his here and you can print it: http://www.scottware.com.au/theme/feature/indy.htm

*A fastpass is available for this ride if you are looking to save time.

"The most thrilling at Disneyland"
Likely the most exciting ride at Disneyland park, Space Mountain is a rollercoaster in the dark.  It is set in outerspace and comes equipped with an energetic soundtrack that blares from the speakers behind you.
If you have brave little ones, be sure to ride this ride.
*Fastpass is available and can save you a VERY long wait.  I always fastpass this ride.

FASTPASS distribution located well past the line entrance for the ride. Continue walking over the bridge and around the mountain. Pass the small shop on the left and get your FASTPASS here.

"Thrills, themes & fun"
This log ride is the best I have ever been on.  Instead of just taking you up a hill and back down, Disney of course themes the ride beautifully and you are immersed in the story of Brer Rabbit.  Even the line walks you through the beginning of the story (you miss this in the fastpass line) so that you can read about the story while waiting for the ride.
The back is my favorite spot for kids as they get to sit next to you and huddle close.  The drop is pretty intense, but older kids will love it.  You will get pretty wet, so be prepared.
*Fastpass is available during peak times.

Comment:
FASTPASS distribution located just North of the entrance in a small enclave. A little known fact is that for some very strange reason, this ride's FASTPASS operates separetely from all others. You can get this FASTPASS at any time, even if you hold another FASTPASS ticket that says you must wait until a later time.

"Fun if you fastpass"
This ride is a fun cross between a teacup car and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.  It is however NOT worth the often up to 90 minute wait that is usually posted.  A funny glitch in the fastpass system makes this ride completely seperate from the rest of your fastpasses.  This means that you can ALWAYS get a fastpass for this ride even if your last fastpass ticket says you still can't get a ticket for another ride yet.  Try it out, trust me, it works!

"Must-see at Disneyland"
Despite the fact that you'll get the song stuck in your head all day, you must ride "It's a Small World".  We've travelled a lot and like to expose our kids to different cultures, so it is fun for them to see all the kids from the world dancing and singing together, as cheesy as it may be.
The ride was originally built for the World's Fair and was brought to Disney.  It wasn't until recently that Disney added in the traditional Disney characters and the kids sure have fun spotting them throughout the ride.
Christmastime this ride is beautifully decorated, so be sure to check it out.
We often get in line a few minutes before a Southbound parade route starts to see the parade while waiting in line if you time it right!
