Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
Being in a vacation rental with all of our extended family for the holidays. 13 people in all. Was supposed to be a wonderful week of fun, but 10 out of 13 got struck with the stomach virus for a week straight. The lowlights can be summed up in: 4 trips to the ER, 2 IVs for our one year old nephew and a concussion from freeze tag for my brother in-law. What a start to the new year!

"Lots of fun!"
The Burgess Pool is great for little kids who are just learning how to swim as well as for the more advanced swimmers. There are 3 pools to splash around in. Last summer, my son was only 1 and we spent most of our time in the kiddie pool walking around and sitting on the steps. He'd usually work up the courage to go to the big kids pool and sit on the side and jump into the water aka my arms. The pool is really kid-friendly and they allow for kid floaties, so that I don't have to hold him the entire time. I would bring one of those inflatable rings and plopped him in that and give my arms a break.
You can't eat near the pool, but there's plenty of picnicky grass areas in and around the pool since it's located in Burgess Park. Locker rooms are clean, although it's still a locker room.

"Huge park with lots to do"
This park has a bit of everything. There are two playground areas, one for toddlers and one for older kids. There are sand pits, climbing structures, picnic tables, tennis courts and lots of wide open space to run around.There's also a fantastic pool for kids to enjoy during the hot summer days complete with fountains and wading pools. My 2 year old is a bit afraid of the water, but the zero depth entrance is great because he can just get his toes wet and have a ball. It's a great place for kids of all levels of swimming expertise.
For older kids, there's a fun place area called the Enchanted Forest to explore and discover and use their imagination in.
Within walking distance are the Palo Alto Junior Museum, the Children's Library, and the local fire department.

"Great park and pool"
Eagle Park is a local hangout with all the requisite swings, climbing structures, sand pit with diggers, a fun see-saw and tons of grass for picnics and running around. The play structure area is well shaded which is nice in the summertime. The pool is a great place to cool off as well.
