Places to have a Pilgrim's Thanksgiving

December 4th, 1619 marks the day when the English settlers gave thanks for the very fist time as they landed in Virginia. Two years later, the Pilgrims landed in Plymouth, Massachusetts and gave their first thanks a year later as they enjoy a feast made out of the produce and products of their harvest. If you are visiting two of these states or close by New Hampshire in November, make sure that you attend a Pilgrim's Thanksgiving celebration.

You can tour the indoor exhibit 'Thanksgiving: Memory, Myth and Meaning' that will help you better understand the culture around Thanksgiving. You also do not want to miss the '1627 Harvest Dining with the Pilgrims' for a real experience of a 17th century dinner. You will be able to enjoy pottage of cabbage, leeks and onions, a sweet pudding of native corn, stewed pumpkin and many more tasty dishes (and of course the turkey!). Live entertainment provided a la mode de Thanksgiving. The dinner is available on November 12,19,20,23, 25 and 26. Tickets (dinner and two consecutive days of Museum admission) are $60.95 for adults and $41.99 for children under 12).

Enjoy dishes that will bring you back into history. This place was a favorite during the colonies and November seems to be the perfect month to pay a visit and enjoy the unique atmosphere.
