About Me & My Family

Three little girls run amuck in this house, so there are days when we just HAVE to get out and get going somewhere. We love zoos, parks, beaches, and traveling around to visit friends and family. We enjoy finding awesome deals for places that are kid friendly. Taking our three girls with us as we travel around the country is by far our most favorite thing to do.

A Place We'd Love To Visit
Vancouver
Favorite Vacation Memory
After a long day of sledding and climbing through the hills in Lake Tahoe, our family sat in front of the fireplace in our hotel and roasted marshmallows. The soft glow on my girl's faces, mixed with their hazy, tired eyes made the warmth of the fire mean so much more.
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
Not realizing how crowded the city bus would be with my girls in San Francisco!! We had to make 4 connections and fold and collapse the stroller at each stop. It was back-breaking, frustrating and a LONG DAY!

New York Military and Veterans Museums

Veteran's Day should be more than just a fun day off from school!!  If you are a parent who is interested in sharing some history and insight into what our veteran's have done for our country, look no further than these museums.

61 Lake Avenue
Saratoga Springs, New York

Comment:
Current exhibits focus predominantly on the civil war.

This museum is VERY hands on. Veteran's day this year, kids can sit in the cockpits of a ton of the historic aircrafts!! (there is also, randomly, a carousel for even younger kids)

This is where George Washington and his army spent the last winter of the Revolutionary War. Lots of activities in the summer, including costumed characters and reenactments; the winter months are quieter, although there are plenty of self-guided tours still available.

Teach your kids what life is like at West Point. Videos showing cadet life, walk-through barracks and more. Tours available most days.

This museum has SO much to offer kids; on weekends they do relevant crafts, there are flight simulators. The exploreum hall is designed just for kids to run around in and learn about the history of sea, air and space.

This museum is committed to child education on the war of 1812, and they offer lots of interactive and self-guided tours for kids and adults.

Comment:
The only army museum in New York City; located at Fort Hamilton in Bay Bridge, Brooklyn. The museum has grounds to explore and discovery, and kids can sign up for a guided tour that showcases artifacts and videos on the Revolutionary War
