Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
I’ll never forget flying home from Honolulu with my 1.6 month old son on Delta. The plane did not have milk for the flight and even though I boarded early, not one person thought to inform me that the plane was not stocked with milk. My son was still drinking from a bottle at this time and freaked out over having to go 5 hours without a bottle. This old cranky lady behind me was loudly complaining the whole flight about how she was tired of hearing my son cry (as if I wasn’t.) I wanted to scream (but did not) at every employee on the plane for not informing me the plane was out of milk until we were up in the air.

The Flying J Ranch Chuckwagon Supper and Western Show has been in operation since 1982. Since the opening some 27 years ago, we have fed and entertained over 600,000 guests! We have pony rides for kids, an "old west town" with gift shops, a pistol range, gold panning, a great cowboy dinner featuring the Flying J's beef and chicken, potato, cowboy beans, biscuits, spicecake, chunky applesauce, coffee, tea and lemonade. After dinner we perform a Western Stage Show featuring the Flying J Wranglers! The Wranglers are comprised of Cindy Hobbs - National Champion Yodeler, James Hobbs - singer songwriter (Best known for "The Song for New Mexico") and his incredible tenor voice and rhythm guitar, Randy Jones is a multi instrumentalist and plays lead and rhythm guitar, mandolin, banjo and sings baritone, Roy Black plays bass guitar and also sings baritone and the bass parts, and Corinna Ripple plays the fiddle and sings. We provide a great family show with songs from the old west, the singing cowboy, mixed with comedy and cowboy humor - You don't want to miss it! If your planning a trip to the Ruidoso, New Mexico area, make your reservations now and please come see us!

The suppers include a traditional chuckwagon show, including a barbecue dinner, wildlife presentation, plus a western music show or bluegrass band. Many of our chuckwagon dinners feature the award-winning Syd Masters and the Swing Riders. The barbeque dinner includes brisket, chicken, ranch beans, baked potato, rolls, apple sauce, cookies, lemonade, coffee, and water. A vegetarian option, substituting a tasty salad for the brisket and chicken, is also available. Shows take place rain or shine in our all-weather amphitheater. New Mexico can get cool after sunset, so make sure to bring a jacket or other warm garments! To get a feel for the experience, check out this photo slide show (full size version of the slide show to the right) of last year's Chuckwagon Suppers season opener.
