"Very charming kid place"
We have not been many times to the Bay Area Discovery Museum but every time we did, my children always had a great time. There have often special performances going on. The indoors exhibitions are really interesting and the indoors ones will keep your children busy for a long time while you relax, admiring the view. They are free every December 26th so that is a good moment to check them out,.

"Their exhibitions are always interesting"
We really like this museum. I love the downtown location and easy access via public transportation. They have nice exhibitions all the time and there is a nice turnaround. The exhibitions and galleries are small and therefore not overwhelming. I can not remember my children complaining about anything they have seen there. Once, they had an exhibition on Jewish plates and I thought that would be a turn off for my children. They actually loved it. Less is more and I think they always get it right. We loved the Maurice Sendak, Chagall, Andy Warhol exhibitions. Their latest is Curious George saves the Day. Well worth seeing. The CJM team has created a suitcase full of activities to get the children interested in the exhibition and it proves to be a success. My children had a great time exploring the exhibition using the tools provided to them and ended up strolling it on their own, giving me some time to do the same.

This is an unusual event for other children to attend but one that can be very inspirational. Children from 15 Dallas elementary school, 4th and 5th graders will recite speeches that will not exceed 5 minutes addressing the topic: As a student of Dr. King's life, what message of hope do you think he would have for the world today?. The free event will start at 10 am to 12:30 pm on Friday January 13th.
