About Me & My Family
I'm a mother
3 Kids 0-8 years old boys and girls

When we travel, good food and adventure always abound. Our family loves to push the limit of what we can do with children. Our mantra has always been - have kids, will travel. However, this doesn't mean I'm unlike most frantic moms before a trip. Wanting adventure and being a control freak can sometimes be a lethal combination.
Our Family's Travel Personality
adventurous, independent, spontaneous
We Just Got Back From
Northern California and Oregon
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
Hawaii
A Place We'd Love To Visit
New Zealand, Argetina, Brazil, Eastern Europe, Cambodia
Favorite Vacation Memory
Climbing Machu Picchu with a 4 month old infant in a slight and having all the locals stop us to ask what happened to his feet which were all bundled up. They just couldn't believe it wouldn't be bow legged.
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
Getting to the airport on our way to Scotland with my 15 month old and discovering that my husband's passport had expired. Instead of rebooking all of our flights, we decided that I would do the first leg of our journey on my own with baby. Unfortunately, we had not packed for me to be flying by myself. I could bearly walk to the runway with all my bags and a 15 month old who would get distracted by everything along the way. He then proceeded to sleep only 1 hour of the entire 11 hour journey (red-eye). It was pretty miserable.

"Great location, okay food"
What I love about the beach chalet is not the food which is decent but nothing to rave about for san Francisco. The reason that I rate it  four stars is because of the location and setting. The dining area has expansive views of the pacific ocean. The ground level dining room opens out to a beautiful lawn where you kids can run free as you enjoy drinks of brunch with friends. Everyone is happy. On the brunch menu, I really enjoy the Monte cristo..  Love the fresh squeeze orange juice too.   It is a great way to start a weekend. After brunch take a stroll on the beach or in golden gate park.

"Food is decent, but great for families"
Buca di Beppo is a small local chain that we enjoy because of it's family atmosphere and family style meals.  They serve huge portions of classical Italian dishes.  If your kids aren't big eaters, be sure to order conservatively because more likely than not, you'll be packing home something to go.  The atmosphere is lively and informal, so your kids will feel right at home.

"Yum!"
The chef at Central Market prepares food the way it should be cooked - from scratch, picking the freshest, local ingredients.  The result is plate after plate of delicious goodness.  While there isn't a kid's menu, the wood-burning oven bakes up wonderful pizzas.  They are also happy to accommodate your kids with a simple pasta dish.  The atmosphere is fairly informal and the noise level is just enough so you don't have to worry about having to hush you kids throughout the whole meal.

"Food was pretty good, but view are lovely"
The large windows overlooking San Francisco Bay from the second floor of Ghirardelli Square are the prime reasons why I like McCormick and Kuleto's.  It's been a while since i was last there, but do remembering enjoying the fresh seafood. The menu offers selections that most kids can appreciate.  If your kids get restless, there are lots of people to peek at through the windows, or you can take a quick stroll around Ghirardelli Square to stretch their legs.

140 Beach Way
Moss Beach, California

Comment:
Informal restaurant set atop the cliffs overlooping Moss Beach. They serve a mean plate of fish and chip. Their regular menu will be available, but if you want a traditional Turkey dinner, you can have that as well. After your meal, head down to the beach and check out the tidepools at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve.

"Good food, but a little expensive"
Moss Beach Distillery used to be an old distillery.  The building has quite a color history.  The setting is really charming atop the cliffs overlooking moss beach that many times of the year can be shrouded in fog.  There is an indoor and outdoor dining area with great big fire pits.  You'll often see families or couple huddling around the first pit with blankets enjoying the ocean air.  The fish and chips were excellent.  The menu has lots of kid-friendly options and fairly usual coastal fare.  Unfortunately, the prices are a little steep for such an informal setting.
