If our little one’s do not always realize how lucky they are to get water when they turn the faucet or to not have mom cooking from an oven with a temperature control, they certainly will more appreciative of their modern kitchen when they visit the exhibition. The exhibition present America’s kitchen through 4 centuries. Children will also be able to work in the kitchen like they did in the ‘older’ days.

Till August 30, 2010. Children are going to love coming to the Art Museum. They will make tons of discoveries about shape and art at the Shape Lab. Families can build, draw, read, and create with kid-friendly materials. Stop by before visiting the MOMA galleries or you will never be able to see them! Who wants to leave a creative space like this one?

"Excellent museum"
The art is unbelievable and the whole family should have a blast. Ask for the children tour map at the entrance to make sure that your kids will get a nice experience. It does not show the whole museum but it shows enough to make everybody happy. My youngest was in a crappy mood that day but when she saw the huge Pollock painting, she just became happy again, the magic of art. She could not believe that she was in front of the painting seen in the Olivia book. The Rousseau painting was fantastic: looking for animals in the jungle will keep them busy for a while. Do not miss the sculpture garden (and admire the Maillol sculpture, Maillol is from my dad's village so we were very proud!).
We had a nice time and really enjoyed visiting that museum.
For info, we had bought a combined ticket Top of The Rock/MOMA and that saved us a little money (they do not have to be visited the same day).

"Very interesting museum"
The museum is very close to the dock where you take the ferry to Ellis Island. So it is a good idea to go visit it after you are back from the Island. The building is beautiful and the exhibits are very interesting with contemporary art that are rarely seen elsewhere. One of the art pieces was a mix of items that are destroying the Native American youth and the goal was to guess the whole purpose of the art piece and why the items were picked. There are also areas more suitable for younger children. Overall, a fantastic experience for the whole family.

bodies Till December 31st,2010. In this exhibition, families will learn anatomy by observing preserved real human bodies. No textbook can give you the same experience. Ideal for the future little doctor or surgeon. Check their website for the 4 age-specific teacher guides (Elementary to post-graduate level) and to make sure that your children will be fine exploring the exhibition. There is a special audio tour for children.
