Kid-friendly Museum Exhibits in 2010- Los Angeles

Several museums in Los Angeles are hosting wonderful exhibitions that the whole family will enjoy visiting. The exhibitions are quite diverse ranging from exploring trees to discovering Air Force 1. And let’s not forget that museums are air-conditioned so they would be a welcome stop in the middle of a hot California summer day.

Exploring Trees Inside and Out From May 28th to September 6th. It is brought by the Doubletree Hotels and The Arbor Day Foundation. Children will be able to crawl inside a giant tree log, smell different tree scents, play in leaves, listening to the sounds of birds, and even get close to the ‘Avatar’ movie experience by becoming a forest creature in a real-time animated blue screen flying experience. All their senses will be in action. They will never look at their backyards with the same eyes. A fantastic experience.

Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Ongoing In addition to visit a very interesting Presidential Library, children get the opportunity to visit Air Force 1, the Presidential Airplane. It can not get better than that! President Reagan wrote most of his speeches in that airplane so hopefully, you children will find it inspirational too.

"I was not expecting it to be so interesting"
It was the first time I had ever been to a presidential library but for some reasons, I was not expecting much. We all LOVED it. My kids were young when we visited but they enjoyed it. They loved to see Ronald Reagan face made out of jelly beans. He became the Jelly Bean man. But I agree, older children will get SO much out of it. I know I did and I learned a lot.
I really recommend it.

Leonardo da Vinci and the art of Sculpture: inspiration and invention Till June 2010 Leonardo da Vinci is the most famous artist and engineer of all times. This exhibition is solely focusing on the drawings that he made of sculptures he did not realize. There is no trace of finished artworks but we know his influence on that particular subject and this will be showcase in the exhibition. It is important for children to see that they can benefit from other’s point of view to strengthen your own. For older children
