About Me & My Family

We are a busy family with 3 kids and we don't sit still. When we aren't running off to scouts, dance, sports, etc., we really enjoy spending time as a family. If we have a day we will try to find someplace local to explore. If we have a weekend we go a little further. Give us a week and we can really pack it in. We are always on the lookout for family friendly destinations (especially hotels which seem so hard to find!). Our vacations are not spent floating in the pool...they are spent exploring the area to its fullest!

My daughter is such a pip and thinks the hotel is the destination. If we do sightseeing along the way she just keeps asking "when are we going to get to the hotel?" She loves checking out our new "home away from home" and she LOVES the fact that she gets to share a room with someone!!

Indoor Water Parks in New Jersey

Looking to escape the cold to some tropic temperatures while staying close to home?  Try an indoor water park.  A sure way to help beat the Winter Blahs.

"A splashing good time"
This was a great way to spend a day of spring break.  It gave my kids a taste of the beach and pools they are eagerly awaiting this summer.

The TimbuckTu Tree Fort has water slides that are on the smaller side which are great for the kids.  There is also a HUGE bucket on top that fills with water and a bell rings when it is about to tip, the kids love standing underneath it as the water splashes down.  There are lots of water guns and controls to splash and squirt water.  This is where my 6 year old daughter spent the majority of her time.

The Congo Bongo River, the lazy river, is a great way for the family to float around.  Just beware of the waterfalls if you don't want water to dump on you!  All 5 of us enjoyed this.

Sam's Cyclone is a surfing attraction.  You use a boogie board and try to "surf" against the costant wave.  You must be 8 or older for this one.  We didn't try this out because it looked too hard for the kids.  I saw one kid wipe out and hit the back wall.  (You have to sign a waiver for this attraction)

Mount Kilamanjaro is a family raft ride that starts 4 stories up, races you through a water tube and empties you out into a pool at the bottom.  This is fast and the tunnel is dark and might be a bit scary for the younger ones but my kids LOVED it!  My husband wasn't daring enough to take a second ride.

Next to that is Snake Eyes which is a water slide that you can take a one person or two person tube down.  Again, the tunnels are dark and go fast!  My 8 and 9 year old boys and I loved this ride.  My husband and daughter opted out after the other ride.

Lizard Lake is a calmer area for the littlest ones with a small splash pool and mini slide just their side.

There is another pool like area where you can shoot hoops or try to cross on the crocks.

There are lockers to store your things which are easily accessible right off the main attractions.  Fees were nominal.  In this locker area are dry changing rooms.  There are showers in the bathrooms but the bathrooms weren't kept that clean throughout the day so I'd skip this and wait until you got home.

There is a snack bar and lots of tables around all of the attractions.  Food was typical family fair, pizza, subs, sandwiches, chicken fingers, munchy foods.

There is a separate arcade area for when you are ready to dry off.  We didn't check this out but it looked like there were a lot of different games.

We got there early and the kids had a blast.  As the day went on it got much more crowded and not everyone was respectful.  There are lifeguards on every station and most seemed very attentive.  There are life vests available for the little ones if needed.

Be sure to bring your own towels and water shoes.

Over all it was a fun way to spend a spring day.
