Holiday Winter Festivals

November 14th - December 30th Stone Mountain Park pulls out all the stops for the holidays with Santa, plays, holiday carols and an amazing aerial tram ride above 2 million dazzling lights.

November 20th. The Friday before Thanksgiving. The Embarcadero Center Building Lighting Ceremony includes ice skating performances, music and ends with the climax of a spectacular pyrotechnic show finale and the initial lighting of all the Embarcadero Center buildings.

December 4th through January 3rd. Opens at 10am, daily. The Winter Wonder Fest at Navy Pier has music, food, rides, fireworks, a ropes course, create-a-cookie cottage and more. Plenty to entertain kids of any interest.

December 5th from 5:00-8:30pm Snow in the desert? The first Saturday in December each year, the city of Goodyear makes 40 tons of snow for kids to enjoy to create the Homeplate for the Holidays Celebration. Santa arrives aboard a Goodyear Fire Department truck, followed by a Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. Craft activities, decorate cookies, and enjoy rides and bouncers for kids of all ages. There will be live entertainment and Holiday Carolers throughout the evening.

December 4th at 8pm for Winter Concert December 5th from 1-3pm for live ice-sculpting

December 12th from 12:00-5:30pm (outside of LA) Come to the Winter Festival at La Plaza Park out side of LA. Pet live reindeer, visit with Santa, enjoy a craft fair and watch a tree lighting ceremony at Dana Point's Winter Festival. The fun starts at noon and runs until 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12.

November 27th-December 31 Head over to the Seattle Center for Winterfest 2009. Winter Train and Village return, along with Winterfest Ice Rink, Classic Carousel, choruses and comedy, jazz and dance, ice sculpting and fireside sing-alongs. Seattle Center, showered in thousands of twinkling lights, sets the scene for five weeks of FREE, affordable and fun-filled family activities, soulful festivities and so much more.

February 6-14th, 2010 Head to downtown Portland Maine for the annual WinteRush. The city of Portland brings all the fun of the mountains into town. From City Hall Plaza to the Civic Center and many fine parks, families can find scavenger hunts, ice skating, hockey, cross country skiing and more.

February 4-14th, 2010 The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival is entering its 113th year with fun for the entire family. There's fun for the whole family including sports, dances, performing arts, two parades and two sets of spectacular fireworks above the world-famous Ice Palace.
