About Me & My Family

I'm an energetic mother and teacher. We have two darling children (ages 6 and 4) and our whole family loves to travel and explore new places! Our kids are very adept at long car rides which opens up a ton of travel possibilities for us! We particularly love exploring the midwest, where we are from and where our heart lies. <3

Hawaii
Favorite Vacation Memory
The look of awe on our children's faces anytime we encounter a new experience or even just walk into a basic hotel room. They're always thoroughly impressed!
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
Crazy teenagers running through the hotel hallways at 2 am. We ended up sleeping in the bathtubs because it was the only room quiet.

For a relaxing day of fun with the kiddos.

"Fabulous, but oh so pricey!"
The zoo itself is amazing!  Parking is quick and easy to find, lines are short even during the busiest of times, animal displays are fun and interactive, everything is very clean.  The barnyard area is out of this world!  It's like traveling to the cutest, old fashioned farm you could ever imagine.  The kids can even get into the fenced in area with the goats and feed them...one of our favorite experiences ever with our children.  I just can't get over the ticket cost!  It's horribly expensive for a family...especially since they charge for young children.  Go....but make it a once in awhile treat.

A beautiful place to have a picnic!

"What a gorgeous way to spend the day!"
Pack a picnic lunch and head to the Dubuque Arboretum for a day of free family fun!  They sell Koi food at the gift shop for $1 for plenty (we still have a half full bag after feeding the fish 5 times!)  There are lots of areas to walk and check out the gardens, but the highlight is definitely the large Koi pond.  Be sure to bring your camera, as there are gorgeous photo opportunities.  In fact, if you're looking for a place to get outdoor photos done in Northeast Iowa, this is it!  They also have a great playground.  During the summer there are outdoor concerts.  And did I mention...it's all free!
