"Awesome County Park for the family"
Absolutely love this park. Saddle River County Park is a 577-acre park that flows with the Saddle River and its brooks. It consists of five park areas that are linked by a multi-use path, including circular paths around some ponds. You can bike, in-line skate, run or walk on all the paths. The path goes thru Fair Lawn, Glen Rock, Paramus, Ridgewood, Rochelle Park and Saddle Brook. Lots of areas to play, relax or picnic. There's a tennis court area, basketball, softball field, baseball fields, but you should check whether permits are needed. If you have a fishing license, you can fish in one of the ponds along the trail. And although I've not been, there's ice skating in the Glen Rock portion of the Park. Overall, fantastic park for kids and adults.

"Great for the whole family"
Love the Bronx Zoo. Living in NJ, it's stlil very close to just cross over the bridge. Great even for warm days because there's so much shade at the Zoo. Enjoy a full day, 1/2 day or a few hours you'll enjoy it regardless and the kids will too. I suggest having strollers for the kiddos as they will almost always get tired from walking, but they'll never get tired from seeing all the different animals. They have animals/repitles for any child. Parents can rest assured their children will not only have fun, but learn a great deal also (and you'll have fun too). Make sure to bring lots of water with you.

"Family friendly Park & "sight seeing""
This is a great park to take your kids. Plenty of space to run around. Whether it's to play catch, fly a kite or run around in the park areas it's great for all ages - children and adults. I especially love the view of NYC and you can even see the Statue of Liberty. Great for family photos.

"Kid-friendly park"
While the zoo at Van Saun is no comparison to the Bronx Zoo as far as size goes, when it's in season, they have some fun animals for the little ones to see. During season the entrance fee is inexpensive;  off season, it's free entry. Parking is always free. What makes this Zoo great is that it's part of a large County Park. So, when you're done walking the zoo, you can take your kiddos on a train ride, the carousel or across the parking lot to the park area. The park area has a few different sized jungle gyms from little tykes to toddlers to kids. There's room for all ages. And plenty of picnic seating also.

"Local quiet kid-friendly park"
Maywood Memorial Park is a nice park to take the kiddos. It's a decent size and offers basketball courts, baseball/soccer field and a playground. The playground area has two different sized playsets and swing sets. One for smaller tots and the other for bigger kids. There's a trail that goes around the park for bike riding, walking, stroller walking or running. On weekends, you can catch a game of the local children's soccer or baseball leagues. It's not crowded during the weekdays for the stay-at-home or work-at-home moms/dads who want to take a short break with the kids outdoors. What's also nice about the park is it's walking distance to the Bergen Town Outlet Center so you can stroll on over to the mall for a snack or shopping (or vice versa). Note: the playground area is not fenced in.

"Fun Playground for kids"
I was invited to this park with a play group and have to say it's quite nice. The play area is fenced in so you don't have to worry about your kids running into the parking lot from all sides of the play area. There are a variety of things for the kids to do from swings and play sets to a sandbox and climbing walls. Plenty for the kids to choose from. There are three sets of swings: one for toddler, one full size and one handicap accessible. There's an area with fixtures that look like a train set to play in and also a portion of a pirate ship.
