My name is Melanie; I’m originally from Puerto Rico and my family moved to Orlando, Florida when I was 8 years old. I’ve been here ever since.
Although my degree is in Industrial & Systems Engineering, I worked in the e-learning industry for 3 years and now focus on social media consulting. Over the past three years, I’ve found myself loving all things social media and continue to learn more each day.
I’ve been married for nearly 7 years and we have a beautiful, yet very active 4 year old baby girl (previously referred to as the monkey). We are raising a bilingual and multicultural little lady and having a blast at it!
I love spending time with my preschooler and recently added the work at home mom (WAHM) title to my belt.

Free and Low-Cost Activities in Orlando for Your Preschooler
Fun activities for preschoolers in the Orlando area. Many are free and all are low-cost. We have found these activities work with our preschool-aged daughter and she always has fun with them.

"Worth the Drive!"
This zoo is worth the 1 hour drive from Orlando to the coast. It's very nicely organized and kept clean. They have a great variety of animals and you can even interact with some by feeding them - like the giraffes! We took our daughter for the first time when she was two and she loved it.

"Fun Play Area"
I like to take our family to the Downtown Disney area every once in a while to take a walk, see some of the live shows they offer periodically, and let my daughter play in the Lego's area. It's good for just getting out of the house and not spending a lot of money.

"Wonderful shows!"
My preschool daughter loves to watch the marionette shows at Pinocchio's Marionette Theater. We love them because they bring stories she already knows to life and the shows are very affordable! They even give the kids a little background info on the difference between puppets and marionettes.

"Books are fun!"
My daughter loves to go to the library and pick out books and books and books. It's hard to have to say "that's enough books!" She loves to sit at the tables in the kid area and browse through books and of course, bring them home! The library also offers various kid-friendly activities, including story times broken down by age range. The best part is that most activities are free!

"Great Park & Playground"
This is a lovely park where you can feed ducks with the little ones, let them play on the playground, and attend periodic live events and festivals. You can also ride around the lake in one of the swan boats! It's set right in the middle of downtown Orlando, so it makes for great scenery as well.
