"One of the cutest places I have ever been"
Sometimes the nicest places are close to home. This is how I feel about the Hakone Gardens. It is one of those perfect places to take your family and enjoy the simple pleasures of life: observing the nature and being happy just for the sake of being there and together.
They have picnic tables and the cherry trees in blossom are not to be missed. I have to say that the gardens are beautiful year round.

We love to go where the ocean and the bay waters meet at the foot of the Golden Gate.

"Amazing landmark"
You can not not like it. It is an amazing landscape, the landmark of a beautiful city. Crossing it by car, by bike, by foot is always amazing. My favorite place to admire it is at its feet, where the waters of the ocean and the Bay meet. Architecture and civil engineering at their best.

" A living history museum"
We visited the Marshall Gold Discovery Park several years ago and we had a blast! Everything is right there, from the location of where the gold was found, to the mills, to the little stores. We loved it. We looked for gold. You can go to the river for free or pay $5 and get to be shown how to do it and you are sure to find a couple of little nuggets. We looked like little kids having fun!

My children love to go to this intimate little zoo.

"The little zoo that could"
We love the Oakland zoo and kept a membership for years. Now that my children are bigger, they have less interested in zoos but they younger, they definitely spent happy hours there. Do not start by their children zoo,it is so enjoyable that your children will not want to leave to explore the rest ofthe place. IT is small but it seems to be a very caring place for animals, they really seem to have much more space to roam than many zoos. They have rides just outside the zoo with a train ride that is a little bit cheesy, I have to say...

My children say that there is the best playground ever there and of course the Zeum!

"many things to do"
The Yerba Buena Gardens holds my children all time favorite playground. And my least one! There are so many children running around that I am always afraid that one will get hurt. And that happened to the little one who got run over by an older kid. Other than that, between the ice skating place, the Zeum, the fountain, the free concerts that are held regularly on the lawn, and  many things that I forget, it is a place to breathe and stop with the kids while visiting San Francisco.
