About Me & My Family

I am a work-from-home-mom married to a work-outside-home-dad. We have 3 boys: 3, 4, and 12. We live in NYC and love it. I love to travel, and I write about our findings and adventures on my travel and lifestyle blog. And because of our kids we find that our travels aren't always to exotic places, but in this adventurous family we believe that "it's not always about the destination, but about the journey". And man, are our journeys fun..and the destinations so far...not too shabby either : )

"Picnics, Strolls, People Watching, Free Concerts"
Central Park is the one place I miss with all my heart when I am not in NYC.  No matter what the season, no matter what time of day, Central Park always has something going on.  Some of the activities are listed on their site, but in all honesty, my family and I often just "stumble upon" the great things we've found there.  Like the free concerts around every path or other performances.

Have a picnic on The Great Lawn, spend time playing in their many playgrounds, have a snack in one of their many little food court areas, and people watch.  Catch a puppet show at the Marionette Theater...or have a romantic lunch or dinner at the famous Boat House, rent a row boat, take a carriage ride.  The possibilities are endless!

"Madison Square Park"
Small park, great for resting and drinking a shake from the very first Shake Shack of the city located right in the park. Home to many family friendly concerts and events in the Summer, and neighbor to the famous Flat Iron building. Near lots of great eateries and shops.

"Peaceful Getaway"
Fort Washington Park is the home of The Little Red Lighthouse in the neighborhood of Washington Heights.  It has great paths to ride bikes,, though unfortunately, they are the same paths dedicated for walkers.

The park has a picnic area overlooking the magnificent George Washington Bridge and Hudson River.  It's a great spot to watch the sunset.  The also have a few tennis courts for those who are into the sports.
