"A Must-See in the Poconos"
When I arrived at Bushkill Falls I wasn't expecting anything great and I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it is. There are several different trails to pick from. The shortest is 15 minutes and the longest is 2 hours. We were hiking with my daughter who was 9 months at the time and we had her in an infant carrier. Strollers are not a possiblity on trails due to steps. I saw alot of people carrying around strollers. Not fun! We choose the yellow trail which is 45 mins. This was the perfect length for us. My 11-year old son LOVED it here. I would love to go back one day and do the red trail (2 hour) and see everything!My advice is bring water and no flip-flops!

"Loved Farm Animal Frolic"
We recently attended "Farm Animal Frolic" at Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm. It was awesome. We packed lunch and they had a nice area to picnic in the shade. The kids loved the animals. My kids are 12 years and 20 months and they both enjoyed themselves. Their was fresh baked bread and cookies. We spent about 4 hours there and would of stayed longer if it did not rain. Great place, reasonably priced. We will be attending next year.

"Small but fun"
This is not a full day trip. You could spend about 1 hour to 2 hours here. Half of this place is indoors (but no A/C) and outdoors. Indoors are the snakes and such. Outdoors are monkeys, pigs, etc. You can feed the animals by hand or with a bottle (at additional cost) My son loved throwing the food and the monkeys would catch it. We went on Memorial Day Weekend and were told it was one of the busiest weekends for them. That being said it was not that busy but it is a small place so it could get crowded in there. This place is really cute and we will be going back soon because my daughter (20 months) loves snakes.

"Pretty nice but pricey"
We visited in August. We brought along my brother who was 14, my son who was 11 and my daughter who was 10 months. We purchased a deal online called "Four 4 Fun" where we got four admission tickets for $99.00. The good thing about this pass is that it is allowed to be used on weekends. 2 & under are free. If you are looking to visit Camelbeach you can save money by purchasing tickets online. If you wish to bring a picnic lunch then you must pay $12 to rent a picnic table. For this reason I decided to not pack lunch and just eat in the park. Big mistake! The food was extremely overpriced and not very good. If I would visit again I would pack a lunch. The boys really enjoyed the park and talked about "next year". I am not sure if we will go back this year. I would say this is a descent sized waterpark and the kids kept busy all day. The toddler area was small, next to the wavepool. There was a bunch of dead bees floating around in the water. When I informed the lifeguard nothing was done to remove them.

"Check out their Candy Store"
This is a fun place to check out while visiting the Poconos. When you first arrive at the Country Kettle it's like walking into a very crowded gift shop. There are trinkets, collectiables and various other items. Alot of breakables so my best advice to to rush to the back of the store where the candy store is. This is a child's paradise. There are hundreds of barrels of candy. There is also snacks, crackers, fudge and bottled items such as marninades, jams etc. My son loved filling up his baggie with candy. You pay by the pound for the candy. They have so many different candies to choose from and all sorts of jellies. Jelly pigs, eggs, sharks plus many more. They have a gigantic gumball machine which is a great photo op. If you are in the Poconos I say this is a must to spend an hour here. It's a fun treat for the entire family!

"Visit in February for Crystal Cabin Fever!"
Sculpted Ice Works is a company located in the Poconos that specializes in ice sculptures for all occasions. Besides that they offer a museum about ice harvesting and also the option to view the ice factory. The museum is very small and did not seem to hold the interest of my children. It seems the parents are more interested in the history of ice harvesting. Once you walk around the museum you can head down to the factory. This factory tour is more suited for children. They can see how the ice is frozen, removed, cut and carved. It kind of reminded me on an episode of “How it’s made.” They do warn that all areas of factory may not be operating at any given time. They also offer very limited hours so be sure to check their website before heading out. The museum and factory tour is worth a look around but it isn’t worth the trip unless you plan to attend the February event called Crystal Cabin Fever. Crystal Cabin Fever is a large themed winter ice display. This year the theme was Dinosaurs. Admission is available for the event alone or in combination with the museum & factory tour. There is a shuttle bus if parking is not available at the parking lot outside the event. We took the shuttle bus and arrived to an extremely muddy parking lot. My best advice is to wear boots! There was quite a descent sized line to enter even though we arrived somewhat early. It seems the line got longer as the day progressed so get there early! It was quite a sight to walk in and see the detailed ice sculptures. There were various dinos of all sizes plus even an Ice Age display. There were Eskimos to put your head in and pose for a picture. But I suspect the main attraction is the ice slides. There were two slides one was a small slide good for the preschool age and the other was a large double slide which kids of all ages enjoy. (even parents!) It is a must to wear snow pants to slide down fast but I saw a handful of people remove their coats and slide down on them. Your admission also includes a complimentary cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows which you will need because it is cold! Additional cups can be purchased as well as cookies. Outside the event they sell hamburgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese, and hot pretzels. They also have pony rides and a petting zoo on the weekends for additional fee.
This is a somewhat new event and we cannot wait to visit next year and see the theme and any improvements made!
