About Me & My Family

My family and I love road trips. In fact, our annual road trip miles amount to at least 10,000 per year! We love National Parks and any place that is off the beaten path.
Our Family's Travel Personality
adventurous, curious, simple, independent, energetic, spontaneous
We Just Got Back From
The road (wherever it takes us), of course!
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
National Parks
A Place We'd Love To Visit
Alaska
Favorite Vacation Memory
There are so many to name. We love Alta Ranch Montana. We have so many fun memories of just staying at the ranch. We never left the place and we were never bored!
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
My daughter got car sick on the way to New Mexico. She puked in every state on the way. I sat in the back and caught the puke in a Ziploc bag for about 8 hours. Once we got to our destination, she was just fine and happy to be there.

If heading out in national forest land to find that perfect tree, I would suggest visiting the current year's press release on Christmas tree permits at: http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/uwcnf/news-events/?cid=STELPRDB5338764 This press release outlines the method and locations for obtaining a tree permit (priced at $10), rules and regulations, and good safety tips. If obtaining a tree on BLM land, contact the BLM office at (801) 539-4001.

This may be a good option for families that don't have the ability to transport a fresh cut tree. This is a family run business which takes on-line tree orders and delivers the trees right to your door. I love that this business started out to teach the families kids about entrepreneurship and hard work.

This tree farm allows visitors to "tag" their tree after labor day, allowing for an early choice. Then return after Thanksgiving where you can cut it down yourself. If you haven't tagged a tree, you may still come by on Friday and Saturdays and pick one with prices beginning at $50.

This tree farm allows early tagging of that perfect tree in October and November. Then after Thanksgiving, go find your tagged tree, chop it down and enjoy.
