"Something for everyone in the family"
The Back Bay Bistro was the highlight of my family's overnight stay at a Newport Dunes Beach Cottage. We went for the Sunday Brunch and were surprised by the tremendous spread. They had the following stations: salad, seafood, hot entrees (breakfast and seafood), amazing seafood chowder, omelette station, carving station with turkey and roast beef, and top it off with desserts! My kids loved the chocolate fountains and petite tarts. There was also bread pudding with vanilla sauce. I was in heaven with that chowder station! I love chowder and I've never had it at a buffet before. I skipped the breakfast food and went straight for the soup.Diners were either really dressed up or casual (because they came from a bike ride or camping at the Dunes). You could sit outside on the lower level patio and bring your dog. There's a large curved bar with great views of the Newport Back Bay and Dunes Marina. It had a very laid back feel and was open to the views.

"A's for the best breakfast burritos"
This place is THE best for breakfast burritos by the beach. My sis lives nearby and we walked to Dana Point Harbor one day - the kids were starving so we veered off the bike path and stopped at A's. Oh my goodness, we ordered one round of burritos to share and ended up ordering a second round. I don't think I've ever done that before. The place has a surfer vibe and tastes yummy for breakfast.
