About Me & My Family

I am a work-from-home-mom married to a work-outside-home-dad. We have 3 boys: 3, 4, and 12. We live in NYC and love it. I love to travel, and I write about our findings and adventures on my travel and lifestyle blog. And because of our kids we find that our travels aren't always to exotic places, but in this adventurous family we believe that "it's not always about the destination, but about the journey". And man, are our journeys fun..and the destinations so far...not too shabby either : )

Best Broadway Theaters/Shows For Families and Kids

When in New York, whether as a visitor or a resident, one should really make time to experience the theater here. It's one of my favorite things to do, and not something I shy from just because I have kids. Here is a list of my favorite shows and theaters to visit with the kids in tow.

"No Mind-Numbing Kiddy Musical Numbers Here."
We love The New Victory Theater. Not only is it affordable and incredibly family friendly (with lockers for bags and coats, and place for parking your strollers and for kiddos to stretch their legs should they wish to during the show), it offers young children (as young as 2) and their families an opportunity to experience sophisticated, beautiful theatrical art. From musicals, to dance performances, to puppeteers to Shakespeare, The New Victory showcases it. No mind-numbing musical kiddy numbers here, this is the real deal. A place where your children can grow up to appreciate and enjoy the beauty that is the theater. We recently saw a production of Peter and The Wolf, a dance and musical performance. My 4 year old boy was beyond thrilled, and I can't wait to go back.

"Beautiful, classical Broadway"
We recently saw the production of Finian's Rainbow. I went with my 12 year old son and his 12 year old friend. Not only was it a beautiful display of classical Broadway at it's best, with amazing acting, powerful musical number and orchestra renditions of Broadway favorites, which appealed to me greatly, but it also captivated the minds and attention of two tween boys in the process.
