About Me & My Family

Three little girls run amuck in this house, so there are days when we just HAVE to get out and get going somewhere. We love zoos, parks, beaches, and traveling around to visit friends and family. We enjoy finding awesome deals for places that are kid friendly. Taking our three girls with us as we travel around the country is by far our most favorite thing to do.

A Place We'd Love To Visit
Vancouver
Favorite Vacation Memory
After a long day of sledding and climbing through the hills in Lake Tahoe, our family sat in front of the fireplace in our hotel and roasted marshmallows. The soft glow on my girl's faces, mixed with their hazy, tired eyes made the warmth of the fire mean so much more.
Worst Travel Moment With My Kids:
Not realizing how crowded the city bus would be with my girls in San Francisco!! We had to make 4 connections and fold and collapse the stroller at each stop. It was back-breaking, frustrating and a LONG DAY!

Arizona Military and Veterans Museums

Veteran's Day should be more than just a fun day off from school!!  If you are a parent who is interested in sharing some history and insight into what our veteran's have done for our country, look no further than these museums.

Learn about Arizona's involvement in wars from 1585-2011. Most displays show army uniforms of time period, and give factual information on each section throughout history. Not too many hands on exhibits.

Tucson, Arizona

A tribute to the 390th airmen that served in WW2. They have a special section in their museum for young children.

Apache Pass Rd. (13 miles south of Bowie)
Bowie, Arizona

Comment:
Fort Bowie is mostly an outdoor monument that serves as a marker for the conflict between Chiricahua Apaches and the U.S. military. The adobe walls and ruins should be interesting to kids and a good start in coversations about war and manifest destiny.

2017 North Greenfield Road
Mesa, Arizona

Comment:
This museum has information on the Tuskegee Airmen, and the Chow Hounds, two popular air groups during WW2. Exhibits change regularly.

2900 N. Craycroft Road

Step back in time to military life from the mid 1800s to see the forts, buildings and operations of an old army fort.

There is a fun junior ranger program here for kids age 6-12 that offers information on the fort's involvement in military history.

201 N. 4th Avenue
Yuma, Arizona

Comment:
Junior Ranger programs and defined activities for kids kindergarten and up will help make this an easy experience. Kids walk through "the old west" and the remains of this once thriving military depot.
