"Very interesting with always interesting exhibitis"
We love the Conservatory of Flowers. It is located in the beautiful Golden Gate Park and if you go on a Sunday, you will not have to share the park with cars. The Conservatory is on the small side but we keep coming back because they have wonderful exhibitions.  My children are still talking of the Butterflies exhibit they saw years ago. We walked in butterflies heaven.
Right now and till April 18,2010, they are hosting the Golden Gate Express Garden Railway. It is a miniature railway layout, with a train driving along the San Francisco landmarks. This is simply amazing.  Love the sounds and the fog! Their attention to details is amazing and we loved that they reuse, recycle, and repurposed materials.
We had lots of fun playing a game of I SPY.
Do not miss it.

Take a peaceful walk and let the children run after the squirrels. Note that the Botanical garden now charges an admission fee of $7 per adult and $2 to $5 dollars per kid for non SF residents.

"Lovely stop in the Golden Gate Park"
Our family really enjoys stopping at the Botanical Gardens when we are in the San Francisco Golden Gate Park. The place is SO green, it is lovely. They are squirels everywhere, for the pure joy of the children. It is a oasis of peace in the middle of the city.

'Hats Off to Mother Nature' is the theme of the week-end and more than 70 amateur gardeners will display their flowery creations. Do not miss the bee exhibit and make sure you buy some honey, that's the only honey we eat at our home.

"Wonderful"
This is a wonderful place with a beautiful mansion to visit and gardens that are  dream. It is such a beauty when everything is in bloom. They organize great events: art, concert series, and tea parties. I had my doubt at first when I brought my children there (12 and 8) but I never imagined as much they would enjoy it. After a quick tour of the home, we spent hours in the garden, walking as well as sitting and just enjoying the views. We did not want to leave but had to, it was closing time! They have a beautiful gift shop with original products and delicious honey from their grounds. We had never taste honey that was so good, buying that honey itself is worth the trip!

Bring a picnic to share with your family by the gardens and then spend a quiet afternoon in my favorite Japanese gardens.

"One of the cutest places I have ever been"
Sometimes the nicest places are close to home. This is how I feel about the Hakone Gardens. It is one of those perfect places to take your family and enjoy the simple pleasures of life: observing the nature and being happy just for the sake of being there and together.
They have picnic tables and the cherry trees in blossom are not to be missed. I have to say that the gardens are beautiful year round.
