I have been to so many Westin hotels since I have a timeshare with them and I have to be honest and say this was the worst I've ever been to. The hotel itself was flat-out nasty compared to the others I've stayed at. The only positive things I have to say are that the workers were friendly and the beds are comfortable. I checked out early because I was disappointed and moved to a new hotel.
This hotel is the old nasty Tysons DoubleTree masquerading as a swanky yuppie hotel. They didn't even bother to change out the old hotel room doors when they did the remodel. The elevators are geriatric.
Sure, the service is attentive and the Heavenly Beds are standard Westin comfy. But beyond that, it feels like a tired old business hotel.
The restaurant is blah and overpriced. Foodies take note: The whole Tyson's area is a culinary wasteland. With the one possible exception being La Madeleine. But even that is a cookie cutter chain restaurant.
The location is good for folks who need to be in the Tysons Corner area, but terrible for families vacationing in DC. The metro is not walking distance. Actually, nothing is walking distance because this is Tysons, the epitome of Northern Virginia's suburban sprawl.
