My family bought at Tree Tops twenty years ago and we have been vacationing there as a family annually. The staff is great and the resort is very clean!! They have been updating the resort later which has made a huge impact. Lots for the kids to do and this is a great getaway in the Smokies- definitely off the beaten path!
When we first arrived at the Tree Tops Resort, we were told that the unit we would be in that day would not be the unit we were in the next (and the rest of the week). We were not thrilled with that, but they made the transition so easy that we got over it very quickly. They were very accommodating.
The property itself is beautiful, and we were excited to see that it actually was out of the way (after driving through Pigeon Forge and seeing Resorts right in the open). It was our little piece of mountain. We are RCI owners, so that's how we got this property for the week, and we exchanged for a 2 bedroom unit. We had a full kitchen, gas fireplace, jacuzzi tub, etc. It was a comfortable unit, and we were able to make it our own for the week.
We didn't have to go too far for the pool, which was 3 foot - 5 foot, a kiddie pool which was 1 foot, and a hot tub. The kids loved swimming, and they loved playing at the playground (which was at a different building, but not too far of a walk). We also hiked up to the top of Tree Tops on a well placed path up the mountain. There were a lot of activities planned, but we didn't participate as we wanted to head out to Gatlinburg proper.
All in all it was a wonderful stay, and we'd stay there again if we head back down to that area.
Oh, and my kids (ages 7 and 5) say they would like to live at the Tree Tops Resort. Obviously they loved it just as much if not more :)
