Towne Place Suites Bend Near Mt. Bachelor

"Quiet location in a great little city"

This hotel is a little off the beaten path, in a quiet neighborhood near the river that winds its way through downtown Bend.  In a town filled with micro-breweries, it is located in short walking distance to the best, Deschutes Brewery, though the family-friendly pub is a bit farther in downtown proper.  The Brewery is absolutely worth the trip though we didn't make it this time around.   A selection of big name brand grocery and coffee places are nearby though the town seems to be replete with free-standing drive through coffee & smoothie joints.
The hotel was very clean with a lobby and breakfast area less typical of the brand, highlighting the warm woods typical in the favored style of the Pacific Northwest.  The breakfast buffet had the standard fruit, yogurt, bagels, plus a waffle maker and biscuits & gravy, which I have never seen in any Towneplace Suites (and garnered the extra star).  Though we didn't try it (our little guy is not in a restaurant-going phase), there is a local pancake house directly across the street for those who'd like more choices for breakfast.
The room itself was large with a comfortably firm bed (not too hard, not too soft) and fold-out couch which just barely had enough room to extend.  But barely was enough for us.  It was a standard King room though it's worth noting that 1-bedrooms, not 2-bedrooms, are available.
