The Treasure Island hotel & casino is a fun place to stay when coming to Vegas. The pirate theme is fun to see and the pirate show outside is the crowd catcher. The hotel is definately kid friendly & fun for all ages, but the casino is adult only of course! :) The rooms are spacious and hotel/casino is a place to remember. The kids will enjoy the pirate entertainment as will you...ahoy!!
I LOVE this hotel....it's one of my favorites, and it's GREAT for kids! It also has a fun little arcade area with kids games where they can earn tickets and redeem them for prizes. They also have the pirate show...although it's a lot more for adults now than it used to be, the kids didn't even seem to notice...they just thought it was fun.
The TI hotel is flashy, like most of the Las Vegas hotels, and offers entertainment galore. We went for a convention - staying three nights in July - and though not the most kid friendly place, were happy, since we didn't pay for the room.
The room was cosier than what we were used to, the crib only fit between the two beds and that left hardly any space in the room. The lighting was also fairly dim. However, the views were amazing!
I don't recall having any special requests of the staff, nor did I use most of the amenities.
The bathroom was huge and lavish, the soak in that tub was one of the best "mummy moments" I've ever had. The toiletries were also some of the best products I have ever found in a hotel - the massaging bath bar is truly a treat :).
We spent a lot of time at the pool, relaxing & swimming but there were a lot of people there.
The TI is connected via a walkway to the Fashion Mall next door. That was such a gift, that I had minimum time in the 107 degree heat with my 1.5 y.o. son. However, you need to pass through the casino to get there. Security stopped me TWICE on my walk through the casino with my stroller, the second time escorting me through the casino to the exit (which he closed after me too!) to make sure that I didn't stop at the slots or roulette table with my son.
All up, I liked the stay but did not find that there was much on site for families to do. We used a private sitter so that we could get out ourselves at night. Aside from watching the hotels' displays and driving the strip, we did not do much in the hotel.
This hotel is very nice but I would not suggest bring the kids here LV in general is not the best experience for them but if you do bring them and think the little priate show might be fun you may have to think twice as the show is really name the Sirens show....this is basically very inappropriate for the kids and I was little uncomfortable to say the least. When I went as a kid the show was much more appropriate and more about pirates and battle but now it is all about the seduction of a priate ship by Sirens.
My husband was there on business and one of his co workers brought his 6 year old daughter and he was very happy my husband recommened not going to the show. We recommend the excalibur game area instead and their knights show.
I'm leaving this review on Treasure Island because as an adult, I love this hotel and love Vegas. But in my opinion Las Vegas is not really a place for children. Casino's galore, shopping and adult entertainment is what this city is about. Treasure Island seems fun in it's Pirate Theme and somewhat kidish, but it's not for kids. The boat show at night is seductive and made for adult entertainment. Some people may disagree, but there are so many more places in the US geared for children and this is not one of them. LOVE Treasure island if your headed to Vegas, but keep the kids home.
