The Signature At Mgm Grand

From the moment you pull up to the gate and let the guard know that you are ready to check in, you can tell that The Signature is someplace special.   We chose this hotel because it is non-smoking and non-gaming, which meant we didn’t have to deal with the stench of smoke wafting up into our non-smoking room like in a typical Las Vegas Hotel. The non-gaming feature ensured that the only people that would be in our hotel would be guests, which adds a nice bit of privacy and security.

All the rooms in The Signature are suites which makes them ideal for family travel. I always try to book a suite because it allows us to have some space to spread out, have a separate place to sit and relax after the kids have gone to bed in the bedroom, and usually has a fridge and microwave. Well, the Signature has all of this and then some!

We stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was HUGE!  There was a full kitchen with beautiful stainless steel appliances and plenty of cooking dishes and utensils.  Eating even just one meal a day in room can save so much money while on vacation and is always a nice alternative when the kids are tired at night. There is a small dining room table and additional bar stool seating in the kitchen.

Adjacent to the kitchen was a living area with a pull out couch, flat screen tv, and entertainment center. Two tvs in the suite means parents can put on what the kids want in the living room while they lounge on the comfy bed and enjoy a show that doesn’t involve a talking sponge. The living area also has a balcony with amazing views. The room we stayed in faced “The Strip” and the nighttime views were incredible. People of all ages will love watching those world famous lights sparkle away.

The master bedroom was beautiful. Kids (and dads) will get a kick out of the tv that magically rises out of the desk when ready for use. The bedding is plush and comfy. I love that there is a white duvet cover instead of a crummy old bedspreads of yesteryear because it means that the hotels have to wash it after every patron visits.  The master bathroom is huge and includes a large sunken tub, separate shower, and separate toilet stall.  Another separate bathroom located off the kitchen/living area and does have its own shower.  Two bathrooms can save time and arguments, especially for families with teenage girls. 

Amenities:  As anyone who travels with kids knows, the pool is ever so important.  The Signature does have its own cabana lined pools but the pools at MGM Grand probably will appeal to families more. Luckily, all Signature guests have access to the MGM pools and just have to follow the moving indoor walkway between hotels to reach the pool area.  There is a lazy river and multiple pools in the area with dining, cocktails, and raft rentals available.

The onsite concierge can help with dinner reservations, show tickets, and activity planning. A 24 hour fitness center is located in towers 1 and 3 for all you crazy folks who like to exercise while on vacation.  Wireless internet is complimentary throughout the hotel and for those of you who like to leave the laptop at home, a 24 hour business center is available.  A deli is located in tower 2 but most other dining options can be found in the MGM Grand.

Good to know: The Signature is located behind the MGM Grand and an enclosed moving walkway connects the two resorts. The MGM Grand is massive and has endless dining and entertainment options from a lion enclosure to a CSI Experience.  Walking from The Signature, through the MGM, and to “The Strip” can be a bit of a hike but it is all indoors and there is plenty to take in along the way.  The Las Vegas Monorail entrance is located at the back of the MGM Grand (near the entrance to The Signature moving walkway) which makes it very convenient for families to travel up and down “the Strip” without a car.
