"Best kept secret in Yosemite"

We had always camped in Yosemite, but decided to stay for a week in the winter and wanted a cabin.  We wanted to have a base camp that we could relax and spread out in when we weren't out skiing, sledding or exploring.  We also wanted to bring our dog.  The website was great and gave us accurate information about the various cabins.  We found our cabin to be just as it was described.  It was nice to be able to eat breakfast in the morning, pack lunches for our activity for the day and return at night to cook a warm meal.  We loved being able to hang out together after the kids went to bed (vs. a hotel room where you're all in one room).  As the other reviewer pointed out, it is a drive from the cabins to the Valley (30 minutes) and to Glacier Point and Badger Pass (45 minutes).  However, in the summer it's convenient to the Mariposa Grove and Wawona which is fun for the kids.  There are also lots of hikes in the area.  We saw coyotes and bobcats while we were there!

"great website helping you find a cabin in yosemite"

Hi,
we did go to Yosemite in fall 2009 and wanted to rent a cabin in the park.
This website was very helpful:
www.redwoodsinyosemite.com
Redwoods in Yosemite is located at the South Entrance of the park.
The website shows plenty of cabins. They are all rated considering the cabin s gear and luxury, so the prices are categorized. Furthermore, it does give you a quick survey about the cabin  s number of bedrooms. Also, you do get a detailed description of each cabin and plenty of pictures of each cabin. We rented a cabin that was rated standard and we liked it a lot. It was not really a cabin, but a real two storey house with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
There is a small shop at Redwoods in Yosemite that provided us with everything we needed for our stay. The store was a bit pricey.
The website does give you information about activities and places where to go. We enjoyed hiking at the Mariposa Grove and liked the historic park close by.
The only thing we did not like about Redwoods in Yosemite is that it takes you a while to drive to Tioga Pass or to the Glacier s Point.
