What a view from the top of the tower. We didn't do the thrill rides but it was fun to watch those that did. We went up during the day and will go up again tonight and get some pics of the lights of Las Vegas. If you are staying at the Stratosphere admission to the tower is free.
There aren't many times that I have ever been able to use those two words together to describe a hotel but I was very impressed when my family stayed. We went over Valentine's Day weekend and the hotel was very busy. It hadn't occured to us that there would be so many weddings but on our ride up the tower the elevator operator told us there were close to 300 at the stratosphere alone.
The room was very clean and much less expensive than other hotels that are more centraly located on the strip. The nice thing about Vegas is that parking is free at almost all of the hotels along the strip so if you want to go out to a show or go to a different area of town it's not hard to find parking. Traffic is terrible on the strip though and it took us almost an hour one night to get from the Stratosphere to Treasure Island.
The Stratosphere Resort and Casino is a fun way to spend your days & nights while in Vegas. Being the tallest building in Vegas, you can go up in the Stratosphere tower and see all of the city from all angle. While your up there...try one of the thrill seeking rides if you dare, all while on top of this magnificent structure. Kids will enjoy the extreme heights and views, but the rides are mainly for teenagers and adults. Rooms are nice and comfortable, and their are many restaurants to choose from whether your looking for a midnight snack or a full sized meal. It's one place you will never forget.
When we first got to our room there were 2 double beds (we had reserved a King) but they quickly fixed it for us and we had a fabulous mini-vacation. Nice pool. Good places to eat on-site. The rides at the Stratosphere were AWESOME but not for little guys. Bought a unrestricted day pass and it was worth it. Don't go on the ride that spins you around unless you want to loose your cookies!!!
We stayed at this hotel this past summer and were very pleased with the clean and newly renovated room. It was only a few doors away from the pool, which has a massive deck with tons of chairs. I especially enjoyed this hotel because it was at the end of the strip and was away from some of the activity. We didn't go to gamble; instead, we used this hotel as a central location for us to travel around the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and hit up some of the shopping centers nearby. Keep in mind, it would be at least a mile walk down to some of the shopping places on the strip. Since it is down so far, it is much more affordable, but if you want activity and shows, you may want to find a more centralized hotel.
We stayed at the Stratosphere Tower several times and this is why:
- The rooms are very cheap, but clean, quiet and well renovated.
- The breakfast menu (13 dollars) is good.
- Guests can ride up the tower for free - you have a breathtaking overview over Las Vegas.
This is not so positive:
- You have to walk long distances to get through this place!
- The surroundings are not nice, park at the Mirage or somewhere else for going out, do not walk around in this neighbourhood.
- The receptionists had us wait for a long time and gave us the key to a room that was already taken (All this fuss took about an hour until we had our room.).
There are other anemities on this site, like some spa services and a gym and a casino (!!!), but as we have not used any of these I cannot give a comment about these.
Stayed there because we were attending a wedding there. In general it is very clean but compared to other hotels on the strip the decor is not as modern. The staff are very nice and had fun staying there. They had a good variety of places to eat and shop. I would stay there again because for the price it is good, I would not walk around the area, take a cab up to the center of the strip if its at night.
We go to Las Vegas about twice a year. My four year old always wants to go there, and is so happy when we do. Our Vegas trips are different from others though. We don't do any gambling and we always stay at the Stratosphere. It's very affordable and clean, and most importantly the pool is family friendly. It's never too crowded for swimming and there are always chairs available. We don't usually during the height of summer because it's too hot, but the times we have been there have always been a positive experience.
We had a really really good deal to stay here for two nights. It was fine, but it was really nothing special. It is far away from the main part of the strip, and although we did walk to a restaurant, it just didn't feel like it was the safest place to be walking at night. It was fine, but there are much nicer places to stay in Vegas, so only stay here if you have a really great deal.
