My family and I love trying out new hotels. It's fun to take a dip in the pool before returning to a freshly cleaned room, curling up in a warm, plush bed and watching tv. We were especially excited to stay at Springhill Suites known for it's modern/fresh vibe in a gorgeous location with an incredible brand.
The rooms at Springhill Suites were gorgeous! We had one king-size bed, 2 flat screen tv's, a pull out queen-size sofa bed and a portacrib to comfortable accomodate our large family of 6. There was a bar area with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and glasses as well as a large bathroom with tub, double sinks, and a glass frosted door. We loved the large window that looked out into the towering trees and it was a beautiful sight to wake up too. My only complaint about the room itself has to do with housekeeping. One of the sheets for the pull out couch hadn't been washed and there was a jell-like blob on it. Also, 2 of the coffee mugs had leftover food and residue on the insides of them (that could have been left from the dishwasher and hard water) but still should have been noticed by housekeeping. I am pleased to say that the hotel manager and housekeeping promptly removed and exchanged those items and apologized for our inconvenience.
The pool at Springhill Suites wasn't large, but it was indoors and perfect for swimming. Being that it's a little deeper, I would highly recommend bringing your own life jackets for your children who can't swim, it's definitely not shallow enough for them to stand in.
Besides the very comfortable beds, my absolute favorite thing about this hotel is it's breakfast buffet! Having a family of 6, finding foods in a breakfast buffet that are healthy and pleasing to everyone can be really difficult! There was absolutely no need to worry though, they have everything. My husband munched on the waffles, I made a bagel sandwich with a bagel, eggs, sausage, and salsa, and my kids ate pancakes, eggs, a banana and yogurt. There was also a variety of cereals, pastries, oatmeal, coffee, hot chocolate, juice, and milk. It was delicious!
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to a family wanting to stay for a night or two in Flagstaff. I do hope they retrain their housekeeping staff because there were things that should have been caught but weren't. It is definitely worth the money and my family and I would go back if we were in the area.
