Pike's Waterfront Lodge

"Cozy, Views, and Ice Cream!"

We stayed at Pike's mainly because of their coupon in the Alaska TourSaver book, and wow, what a treat!  We were able to get a deluxe room right on the Chena River, buy one night and get the second free.  The room was very plush and comfortable, with a small balcony overlooking the river.  

The lobby is full of mounted animals, which the kids loved.  There is also a great sitting area with tables and board games where ice cream is served in the evenings.  Alaska residents get a token good for a free cone per person per evening at the hotel.

The location is convenient to the Riverboat Discovery and removed from the traffic of the rest of Fairbanks.  It's also really close to the airport (but we noticed no plane noise at all).  The rooms had a huge flat screen TV with PBS for the kids after a long day of travel, and free wifi, too.

Our only complaint of the entire stay was our room's refrigerator.  It just was not cold, and we were told that it was made to not be cold.  I put a bag of ice in it to keep our snacks cold.
