Phoenix Inn And Suites Bend

"Good for adults and kids"

It's a little more expensive than some others in the area, and is not as "boutique" as it suggests on its website, but the Phoenix Inn is perfectly located in Bend for enjoying the great downtown area.  There are so many parks, bars and restaurants within a short walking distance, you will not lack for activities for adult time or kid time.  
At one corner of the parking lot is a staircase leading down the small hill to a quiet-ish street with a great coffee shop for your morning cup-o-joe (with Portland's finest beans from Stumptown) but the coffee they brewed in their step-up-from-basic breakfast buffet was surprisingly good.  A particularly nice feature of the hotel was an array of kid friendly options in the bike rental kiosk right outside the front door.
Allergy sufferers should beware: we asked for feather free, but after checkin they were only able to find one feather free pillow and the beds had down comforters.  Obviously that may be a big plus for winter months, but not for us.  Also, the scented products in the room were quite overpowering when we entered, but our trusty travel air purifier made short work of the smell.
As a suite, the room itself was comfortable & large, with a sitting area and table, in addition to the two queens beds.  But it was all one room, plus bathroom, something that wasn't clear in the room descriptions.
