I am a repeat customer of Peaks of Otter Lodge and can highly recommend it. If you are tired of constantly being connected to the outside world, chained to an endless cache of electronic devices, and in need of a little peace and quiet, this is the place to go.
This picturesque lodge, nestled in between the majestic Peaks of Otter, is as close to perfect peace as I have ever been. The rooms are comfortable and spacious enough to move around comfortably, which is nice, but the real draw is what’s outside the room. Gorgeous views abound on all sides, from the glory of Sharptop peak to the shimmering reflection on the lake, and the bountiful wildlife in all directions. I love this place in every season, but fall is by far my favorite, when all the trees erupt in riotous color. This is the kind of place where you just relax and reconnect with your loved ones. There is a television in the bar downstairs and one in the lounge, but who needs a television when you have all the available hiking trails, books, board games, etc?
The dining room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the food is good old fashioned home cooking, like grandma made once upon a time. Locals flood into the restaurant for the buffets on Friday (Seafood), Sunday (Hot Breakfast), and Sunday night (Country Favorites), so make sure to make your reservations upon check-in if you don’t want to have to wait.
I urge everyone to check in for some good old fashioned family fun.
