"Kid Friendly Luxury in NYC"
The Omni at Berkshire place was quite a find. First the location was great. We had no problem walking with our bags from Grand Central to the Omni on 52nd. It is also very close to 5th avenue, American Girl,Rockefeller Center, Radio City and other kid-tastic locations. The lobby was luxurious but in a friendly way. The on-site restaurant, the Fireside is equally appointed.
We were immediately greeted by a very friendly front desk clerk. She made sure all of our requests for the room were met,provided us with a kiddie goodie bag as part of the Omni Sensational Kids Program and guided us to the concierge who was well-informed on where my Mom could take my 6 year old daughter to check out the sites of NYC. He gave her a map and they were on there way.
We had been informed in advance to join the complimentary Select Guest Program at the Omni which provided us with morning beverage delivery, our choice of room qualities,delivery of morning newspaper and free pressing of 2 items as well as complimentary wi-fi. Be sure to join if you are booking a stay at any Omni.
Our room was nicely appointed with a large screen TV, in-room movies,dual closets, a mini-bar,large mirror and fantastic work station as well as a sitting area.The beds were super-comfy and the room tempertaure wasspot on and completely in our control. The bathroom was updated with marble and mirrors, but disappointingly lacked a fan.
As part of the Sensational Kids Program my daughter was provided milk and cookies for a turn down snack. What a treat. She was very excited. Make sure you ask for plain milk or you may be delivered chocolate milk made with aspartame. ( We avoid artificial sweeteners) They also have A Kidz Korner at this location avaiable at scheduled times. Here kids of any age with parental supervision can enjoy snacks, crafts, movies and toys with other like minded kids. My 7 year old enjoyed making Valentines for her friends.
This hotel was fabulous and reasonably priced considering the amenities and location especially if you take advantage of the advance purchase program. They have several other room packages avaialble including an American Girl program. One concern is the ability to book a room for a larger size family. I believe they only have rooms with 1 king or 2 doubles which is difficult for a family of 3 children.
All in all the staff was marvelous, the rooms beautiful, the location unbeatable and attention to detail was phenomenal. We look forward to staying again soon and checking out another Omni property.

"Fabulous Stay"
This hotel is in an ideal location for families wanting to be centrally located to many of the top destinations of mid town. Mere blocks from Rockefeller Center, American Girl Place, Top of the Rock, steps away from some of the best shopping in the world and a short walk or cab ride to the rest of the city.
To be honest, after viewing the website, I wasn't sure how kids would be received at this hotel that boasts luxury. Turns out we could not have been happier. Upon check in my daughter received a back pack with a coloring book, an activity map, crayons, some snacks and other little toys. At turndown service fresh baked cookies and milk were brought to the room. You can also request to borrow a rolling back pack of toys to take to your room and there is a kid's club on site.
Our room had two double beds and was spacious, especially for a city hotel room. Beds and pillow were quite comfy. Our bathroom was also large and robes are provided for use. I had requested a quiet room and I have to say, it was one of the quietest hotel stays I've ever had. I had no idea that outside my window was the bustling city that never sleeps.
The staff was pleasant and helpful and always had a smile on their face. We had a chance to chat with Lenny the doorman and Mary the conceirge and they are just two examples of the friendly faces you will find among the staff. They can point you in any direction you may want to go in the city and are armed with some fantastic tips and insight.
If you plan on checking out of your hotel room but still staying to enjoy the sites, they have complimentary luggage storage for your convenience. Considering I entered the city with 1 bag but was leaving with several, I found this service helpful!
This was our first stay here and I would go back for another stay in a heartbeat. Our experience here also makes me want to seek out other Omni locations in other destinations.

"Good Price and Great Location"
We stayed at the Omni Berkshire Place in December of 2009. We were there for a few days before Christmas, so the price of hotel rooms in the city were at a premium and many hotels did not have vacancies. We live in DC so visit NYC often, during recent visits we have stayed at the Sofitel, the Palace, the Essex House, and the Empire. I would put the Omni on the level between the Sofitel and the Empire. I booked the room through the Omni website and the price was about $75 less than other comparable hotels. The Omni Berkshire Place has a good central location at 52nd Street and Madison. You are a block from 5th Avenue shopping and Christmas decorations, walking distance to Times Square, Broadway and Central Park. We had requested a room with 2 doubles as we were traveling with our 4 year old but were given a King room with a pullout. This made the room a bit tight but was still larger than other rooms that I have stayed in. The room was clean and the furnishings were classic and need a bit of updating. My suggestion would be to remove the large wardrobe closet and bulky television that take up a large bit of the room and replace it with a sleek desk or dresser and flat screen. We visited the Fireside Restaurant one night after dinner and enjoyed cocktails, dessert and coffee. The S’mores and Zeppoles were great and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. The hotel provided turn down service each night and we were pleasantly surprised to receive freshly baked cookies and milk for our daughter and bottled water for us.
We found everyone who worked at the hotel to be very friendly and especially attentive to our daughter. Overall we had a great trip and would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a reasonably priced, clean basic room in midtown NYC.

"Loved the location and kids club"
This hotel is right in the thick of midtown Manhattan which is perfect if you have little ones, as it enables you to sight see for as long as they can handle and then head back for naps, then back out again without missing a beat.
They give the kids a "backpack" on check-in, which had litle trinkets, cups, and snacks inside. They also had outlet covers available if needed.
Room service was cheaper than some places around the hotel (stay away from the TGIFridays near Rockerfeller Center...$12 kids meals...yes $12 each!!! don't ask how much a salad cost).
We will defiantely stay here again!!!

This hotel is located close to the airport. Attractions in the
neighborhood include St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Plaza,
and Grand Central Terminal. Other attractions include Chrysler
Building.

Dining options at Omni Berkshire Place include a restaurant and a
bar/lounge. Room service is available 24 hours a day. Recreational
amenities include a health club and a fitness facility. The
property's full service health spa has body treatments, facials,
and beauty services. This 4.0 star property has a business center
and offers meeting rooms for small groups, secretarial services,
and technology support staff. Wireless Internet access (surcharge)
is available in public areas. This New York property has 7000
square feet of event space consisting of banquet facilities,
conference rooms, and a ballroom. Wedding services, limo/town car
service, tour/ticket assistance, and translation services are
available. Additional property amenities include valet parking, a
concierge desk, and multilingual staff. This is a smoke free
property. A total renovation of this property was completed in May
2010.
Guestrooms.
There are 396 guestrooms at Omni Berkshire Place. Beds come with
pillowtop mattresses, down comforters, down blankets, and premium
bedding. Bathrooms feature shower/tub combinations, phones,
makeup/shaving mirrors, and bathrobes. Wireless Internet access is
available for a surcharge; guestrooms also offer multi line phones,
voice mail, and complimentary newspapers. 37 inch LCD televisions
have pay movies. Air conditioned rooms also include desks,
minibars, blackout drapes/curtains, and electronic check out.
Guests may request a turndown service, refrigerators, and hypo
allergenic bedding. Housekeeping is available. Cribs (infant beds)
and rollaway beds are available on request. Guestroom renovations
were completed in May 2010. Guestrooms are all non smoking.
