"Good choice if your visit is Brooklyn-based"
The Marriott Brooklyn Bridge can be just as expensive as staying at a nicer hotel in Manhattan, but if you are visiting friends or family in Brooklyn, it is a great choice. Actually, it is the only good choice, unless you want to shell out for Hotel le Bleu or are going the B&B route. The doormen, bellhops, check-in and maintenance staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and the crib was safe. The hotel is very close to the subway station and it is a very short and easy trip to Park Slope and Kensington. If you have younger kids and are planning to visit folks in Brooklyn, this is a better choice than staying in Manhattan and trekking across the river. Some downsides: The hotel does NOT have valet parking and the parking garage is next door to (NOT inside) the hotel. This may not sound like a big deal, but when faced with a screaming baby and a bunch of bags, it was an irritating surprise. The hotel can be difficult to find if you are coming from the Brooklyn side (many streets are one-way; your GPS may not understand where the entrance is; if you are coming from Manhattan, it's obvious how to get to the hotel's main entrance).
