Located in the beautiful and peaceful town of Indian Wells, The Miramonte’s breath taking views, beautiful lush grounds, and exquisite attention to detail, made leaving at the end of our vacation very difficult. On our recent trip to the desert my four year old daughter and I experienced the luxury of The Miramonte Resort and Spa first hand. As a bonus, our visit coincided with the holiday season so we found holiday spirit around every corner of this beautiful hotel. A bit nervous that I would have to keep her busy with activities in town, I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of activities The Miramonte offered their youngest guests this time of year. Rooms: My daughter and I stayed in the beautifully decorated Luxury Room. With most of the amenities that have become the standard: shampoo, conditioner, soaps, use of iron and ironing board, safe, and coffee and tea maker, the only thing that was missing was a mini fridge. The room had a comfortable king size bed, lounge chair, desk and large flat screen TV. The 450 sq ft. room was very comfortable for the two of us. The bathroom had two sections: a vanity area with sink, and a full bathroom with a standard size tub. My favorite part of our room was the table and chairs on our patio that looked out to a beautiful lush garden. It was a perfect place for our morning coffee and milk. The one thing about my room I didn’t appreciate was the noise factor due to the adjoining room door. This is something that I have found to be a problem in all hotel rooms with this feature. My suggestion is if you aren’t going to need adjoining rooms, ask for a room without an adjoining door. It makes for a more peaceful stay. Pool: The Miramonte has two pools, one 18 and over and one for all ages. This is something I find extremely important when traveling with children to luxury hotels. Children are naturally louder creatures. So when you give guests the choice of pools you don’t have to bury your head when your child decides to be a child! The Miramonte pool and hot tub kept with the luxury feel. Both the pool and hot tub were large. Plenty of cushioned lounge chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas were available. On hand was complimentary cold water. Children’s Activities: (Check with front desk for days and times) (Holiday season) The Miramonte had plenty of things to keep my very active daughter busy. The game room was a big hit. Filled with games and toys and open from 10am to 9pm we found ourselves here several times. The game room had a basketball hoop, air hockey, foosball, a train table, doll house, coloring sheets, puppets to play with, and more. Santa’s workshop took place here where my daughter made crafts and decorated cookies and Mrs. Claus read stories. The fun didn’t stop there; they also had chestnut roasting and s’more toasting under the stars. The sweetest thing that they had set up for children was the Letters to Santa. Located in the lobby was a mailbox and blank letters. My daughter filled hers out placed it in the mailbox and the next night hanging on our door knob was a small stocking with her name on it with a card from Santa and an activity book. The amazement in my little girl’s eyes was the only present I needed. Oh to be four again. Gingerbread Village: (Holiday season only) Besides the magnificent holiday decorations throughout the lobby there was a room filled with gingerbread houses. Made by local families, we had a blast looking at all the details of these yummy houses. Parking: Parking couldn’t have been easier. Both valet and self parking were available. Valet parking was $15 per night, self parking was $8. In the villa we stayed in the parking was in front of our door so self parking was the obvious. This was great since my husband wasn’t with us and I had to do the schlepping of the bags. Extras: • Complementary WIFI • Complementary use of fitness center • Full service spa (prices vary) • Wellness classes like yoga and Zumba ($30 a day for guests $18 a day for local residents) • Golf Bottom Line: I highly recommend the Miramonte Resort and Spa. The Miramonte took the extra steps to provide my families with a comfortable and luxurious stay. Even with 215 rooms this hotel made me feel like my daughter and I were important from the first moment to the last. Disclosure: I received a complimentary stay at The Miramonte Resort and Spa to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. I was not told to express a particular point of view.
