"perfect for kids"
This hotel was fabulous--on a beautiful golf course too! We stayed w/ extended family in a large 2 bedroom/2 bath villa. We spent most of our time at the pool--which was complete w/ a small waterslide, splash pad and cabanas with water misters. The pool is huge--plenty of room for everyone, and there was a baby pool right next to it. We had toddlers so spent lots of time in the "baby pool" that was about 1 foot deep. Also close to the pool is a fun kids soft ground play area.
We also took the Palm Springs Aerial Tram tour--really fun! We went from 100 degree weather to 70 degrees in a matter of 15 minutes as we went to the top of the mountain on the tram. At the top was a restaurant (decent food/decent prices--nothing special) and hiking trails. We stayed and hiked for a few hours and then rode the tram back down just before dark. We took our 4 year old and she enjoyed herself.

Convenient location in Palm Desert. Villas and grounds are very family-oriented with full kitchen and laundry facilities in each unit, central playground, kid's activity center and individual pool for each group of villas if you want a quieter day.
Location. Surrounded by towering mountains, the Marriott Desert Springs Villas II are located in Palm Desert, Calif. Palm Desert Skate Park and Palm Desert Town Center Mall are less than three miles from the resort. The hotel is four miles from the Palm Royale Golf Course, the Desert IMAX Theater and the Mountain Vista Golf Course.
Hotel Features. Located on 400 meticulously manicured acres, the Marriott Desert Springs Villas II shares the same amenities as its neighboring sister properties, the Marriott Desert Springs Villas and the Desert Springs Resort and Spa. A complimentary shuttle transports guests between the resorts. Five different venues provide varying cuisines including Southwestern, seafood, Mexican, Japanese and Italian. Two 18 hole championship golf courses, multiple tennis courts and heated outdoor pools and spa tubs are located about the resort. Flower lined walkways, shimmering lakes and fountains dot the property. The resort provides concierge and child care services. Fitness equipment is available and there is a clubhouse on site. Laundry facilities are also provided. The resort features a business center and high speed wired and wireless Internet access.
Guestrooms. The 804 guestrooms of the Marriott Desert Springs Villas offer kitchens with refrigerators, microwave ovens and coffeemakers. Each unit offers cable television, combination DVD/VCR players and high speed wired and wireless Internet access. In room safes are provided.
Expert Tip. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway sits near the Marriott Desert Springs Villas II and climbs 5,900 to the upper slopes of Mount San Jacinto in 14 minutes, allowing for fantastic views of the Coachella Valley. Temperatures are typically 40 degrees cooler than the desert floor, and winter brings with it a snowy wonderland perfect for cross country skiing and sledding.
