We stayed at this property for a week, over spring break, with our 3 kids. It is a kid heaven! We took advantage of almost every amenity the resort had to offer; from the waterslide (props to Austin the lifeguard who took the time to get to know each and every kid who went down the slide--and yes, knew them all by name!), the junk food bingo games, the visit from the Living Desert, the movies by the pool--we had a ton of fun. We enjoyed being able to use the bbq's they had ready to use throughout the property as well as the complimentary bus transportation system throughout the property.
The pools were amazing. Plenty of shaded cabana space complete with misters to keep us cool. My 2 year old especially enjoyed the kiddie pool, with only a foot of water.
Plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby.
Nothing really negative to say...except, our room was a little dirty...I cleaned it myself when we arrived and had a great week.
The Marriott Shadow Ridge offers fun for the whole family! We were excited to get away from the daily grind and relax for a change in a different place. Luckily for us, we won a fantastic retreat at this resort for 7 days. Not really knowing what to expect, we were surprised that the location of the buildings were wonderfully placed so that all of the rooms were situated with the golf course on one side and the sprawling pools on the other. We happened to be placed across from the Chuckwalla Pool and Activity Center- the place to be for families!
We stayed in a two room suite complete with king size beds, oversized tubs, flat screen tv's, two restrooms, laundry facilities, a full kitchen, dining room, living rooms, and a patio on the golf course. The rooms were clean and bright with soaps and detergents for our use- a mom must with 4 kids! The only downside to the rooms were the large glass tables I was certain our kids would break.
We had such an amazing time playing at Chuckwalla Pool; on the water slide, with the water canons, and on the splash pad that my kids were begging to go back every time we left. Because the Palm Desert is so warm, we loved spending a majority of our time there. The Chuckwalla Activity Center featured a giant chess board, shuffleboard, a fenced playground area, Wii's, table tennis, coloring stations, an indoor theater and more. On certain days they have activities they offer like snow cones for a cause, or parent's night out. Our favorite activity was the dive-in-movie night where we watched the movie Old Dogs while swimming in the pool. It was so much fun!
