"Beautiful, peaceful, luxe!"
Wow...there are not enough words for this hotel. Set on the bluffs of Torrey Pines State Beach in La Jolla, this hotel is nothing short of magnificent. This is truly a family friendly deluxe hotel!
You are welcomed with bottled water by the valets. The craftsman style of the hotel is carried through & through. The rooms are gorgeous (but a tiny bit on the smaller side) & no detail is overlooked. The toiletries are their own signature Rosemary Sage and are to die for! If you request a crib, they deliver a WOODEN crib (not a Pack & Play) complete with an adorable little plush teddy bear souvenir for your little one!
The grounds are amazing. You could spend an entire day just walking around & enjoying the sights. The resort lends croquet sets & boogie boards to the guests. The library has board games, puzzles, cards & billiards. You can also join a complimentary guided hike along the bluffs.
The pool is AWESOME! There are covered cabanas with padded loungers for you to use - free of charge! They are on a first come, first served basis. The pool has underwater speakers so you can hear soothing music while submerged. There is a lovely little snack bar at the pool & they deliver to your lounge chair.
The A.R. Valentien restaurant is awesome, but not a good choice for the kids. It's a great alternative for the parents, though! The Grill offers wonderful casual fare. I recommend sitting on the patio, weather permitting.
Then, there's the spa. This is defintiely in my top two favorite spas, next to the Spa Grande at the Grand Wailea in Maui. My favorite is the wet steam room with the scented steam. The treatments are decadent. You can wrap up in a plush robe & curl up by a roaring fire, sipping icy cucumber water while waiting for your treatment to start. After your spa experience, you can shower & get ready in their amazing dressing area with fully stocked vanities.
They have a full service exercise room with modern equipment, as well as complimentary yoga lessons (if you're into waking up at the crack of dawn!).
Expensive, but so, so, so worth it!

Set in one of San Diego’s most beautiful areas, Torrey Pines is a destination in and of itself. The landscape is comprised of red cliffs and undeveloped canyons that drop into the Pacific Ocean. The Arts and Crafts style resort is a world famous golfer’s paradise, but it also has a top-notch spa and outstanding restaurant. Despite these adult-focused amenities, the resort goes out if its way to welcome families, particularly during summer months when they offer an array of kids activities. The décor is warm and cozy, and rooms are spacious. Although the location feels secluded and is a short drive from shops and restaurants, family-friendly San Diego attractions are easy to access.

hotel is close to Torrey Pines Golf Course. Another nearby
attraction is University of California San Diego.
