It's Gone! Not too sure what to write. My husband and I had a wonderful time at this attraction 7 years ago, and managed to keep our then 4 year-old busy. The ride was fun and well-made. The "museum" and gift shop fun and full of unusual souvenirs. And there was even a sci-fi type restaurant in the middle. Unfortunately, it's now gone. There's been talk of moving it to another hotel and re-opening it but not sign of this, sadly.
The Star Trek experience was what brought us to this hotel several years ago. It was a great place for our family to stay on our road trip. The room was larger than we were used to for a hotel, which was surprisingly nice! 2 couches made a sitting room that we took advantage of when the kids were sleeping. It was nice to be off the strip, in a relatively nice area of Las Vegas in a comfortable, clean hotel. The boys loved riding the elevator up to our 10th floor room. They thought we were visiting a grand tower.
We had a difficult experience in Las Vegas on this road trip because our youngest son needed emergency care at the local hospital for his asthma. We decided to stay an extra day in LV to rest up from an overnight ER visit, so we were a little stuck at this hotel. As a result, we discovered that Las Vegas was not very family friendly. No play areas in this hotel except a small Thomas Train table in the gift shop with no trains on it to play with. Kids aren't allowed in the casinos so we were relegated to the arcade and the food court style eatery. The pool area was closed for the season (we were there in December) and we couldn't find a McDonalds playplace to save our life. We were too timid to brave the strip with our young kids so we stayed in the hotel. We were very happy to leave Las Vegas when our son felt better the next day!
This would be a five star review except that they have taken out the Star Trek theme and attraction. In my eyes this is just not right. The hotel is decent and good food when it is open. (Last time I visited many of the restaurants were closed) Not tons of family activities now without the Star Trek attraction. I would probably not stay here unless attending a convention at the attached convention center. There are tons of other family friendly hotels that would be better for our family.
This hotel is located at the north end of the vegas strip. It is connected to the Las Vegas Convention center and provides you with easy access to the Vegas monorail. The rooms are decent in size and provides all the ammenities that you can expect from the Hilton brand hotels. The night-life is what you can expect from Vegas.
