So let's not forget about the third, and original, lodging choice on Lanai - Hotel Lanai. Hotel Lanai was built in the 1920's as the lodging for the Dole Plantation Executives and remained the only hotel on Lanai until 1990. The Hotel offers 11 guest rooms ranging from $100-$200, with options ranging from a standard room to a lanai room to a cottage. The restaurant offers pacific-fusion fare and is a bit more reasonable then the Four Season's Resort's Restaurants. The quality of the cuisine was fantastic and the atmosphere definitely was definitely as advertised. Hotel Lanai is definitely more kid friendly than the Lodge at Koele, however, I don't recall there being a swimming pool and there wasn't a whole lot to do except visit the other two hotels.
If you are thinking about staying on Lanai for two nights or more, worth thinking about staying at Hotel Lanai for a different experience from Manele Bay or the Lodge at Koele. The Inn is clean, well cared for, and a calming, fun place to take in a different era.
